Well, it looks like Obama is doing something right so, I don't mind giving some credit where it is due. Obama had previously criticized Bush for not renewing a ban on assault weapons.
Obama's silence on the issue is a change from earlier in his career. During a debate while running for Senate in 2004, he said: "I think it's a scandal that this president did not force a renewal of this assault weapons ban."It appears as though he is now avoiding this issue. Although, this could just be political because, the democrats are acknowledging that discussing gun control usually results in them losing elections.
There's nothing to discuss here. We have the right to protect ourselves.
