Guns -- My Response

Well, I have a friend who posted something on my Facebook wall tonight and it most certainly inspired me to respond. However, I must note that the response I posted here is a little "fixed up" in that I corrected some grammar and spelling. I will start by saying that my friend is fairly reasonable, not someone who is out to take everyone's guns but, I do believe a bit naive. He found an article that was written by someone else and the author is unknown but, it also appears to be fairly rational however you'll have to read it for yourself.

New Features - New Year - New Beginnings

I have been doing "Today's Headlines" for quite some time but, instead I have decided to add news scrolls on the side of the blog so that you can get the latest news without me having to constantly update. What a great idea, huh? LOL! This way I will be able to focus on posting stories I find interesting and want to comment on. I really hope you all enjoy the new changes and make The Alternative Conservative your number one source for the latest news headlines.

Obama Eats His Words

If you consider the words of Obama in 2002 pertaining to the war in Iraq, it does seem as though our leader is now putting his foot deep inside his oral cavity.

The Enemy of My Enemy is My Friend?

"Freelance jihadists" are said to have joined Libyan rebels.

Okay, first off, what is a "freelance jihadist"? Really? ~~LOL!~~ Excuse me, the title just seems so odd. I've heard of mercenaries before but, never "freelance jihadist."

According to the article in the Washington Times, al-Qaeda has many people moving in on Libya and they are fighting with the rebels against Gadhfi (oh, look another spelling).

The rebels are also said to be hiding their true beliefs in order to maintain Western support.

Last week, Libyan rebel leader Abdel-Hakim al-Hasidi told the Italian newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore that he had recruited 25 Islamic fighters in Dernaa and gave his view that al Qaeda members were “good Muslims.”

Like Mr. Benotman, Mr. al-Hasidi is a former member of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG) that in the 1990s was affiliated with al Qaeda but moved away from Osama bin Laden’s organization a decade later.

Mr. Benotman said he knew Mr. al-Hasidi and had seen the interview.

“What I do care about is not this commander’s opinions, but his actions,” Mr. Benotman said. “If he thinks al Qaeda members are good Muslims, it’s his opinion. But we should say out loud, ‘We do not allow for al Qaeda tactics, al Qaeda agenda and al Qaeda strategy in Libya.’ These are not welcome.”

Judge Judy Health Scare

During a taping of Judge Judy, Justice Judith Sheindlin, started speaking incoherently and, finally said that she needed to stop.

"She was just sitting on the stand during her show taping and she started saying things that didn't make any sense," a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com, exclusively.

"She said, 'I need to stop, I'm not feeling well.'"

She was rushed to the hospital and it is being reported that they were keeping her overnight.

I pray for Judge Judy and hope she is okay. I would hate for anything major to happen to her. She truly is an American treasure as far as I'm concerned. She's conservative and, she is very reasonable. She is also extremely respectful and is a great representation of the justice system. I absolutely love Judge Judy.

Jon Stewart -- Libya -- Obama

Jon Stewart is usually a smart cookie and on this issue, he proves it again. It seems as though Stewart is questioning why Obama made a huge point to tell the American people that the Libya operation was being handed over to NATO, when the US makes up the biggest part of NATO.

Is it not safe to say that Obama, like many democrats in this country, thinks the American people are STUPID? They are correct; they're supporters are, in fact, STUPID!

Obama Wants Illegals to Succeed

Okay, you're probably going to flip your lid when you read this and watch the video below. Obama was questioned by an illegal about why she kept receiving deportation letters.

Obama states that the government is focusing on illegal criminals. Umm...aren't these idiots already criminals by being here illegally??!!

Just what the hell is an illegal doing asking the president a question like this? Why was she not immediately arrested? This girl certainly has quite a bit of balls coming forward and admitting that she broke the law and then, has the unmitigated NERVE to complain about getting a letter!??! A deportation letter that she should be adhering to!!

So, if you can't tell, I'm literally screaming this out as I type! What in the hell is wrong with this president? He can't tell her to stuff it and GTFO?! Seriously. It might be a good thing I'm not president because if I were, I certainly wouldn't be giving this ILLEGAL ALIEN some softball answer like that. The only thing I want her to succeed at is packing her bags and going back home and getting here the legal way!!! Oh, and LEARN ENGLISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For G-d's sake! Asking a question in Spanish? Really?

Yemen is next of the Middle Eastern countries to have protests urging their leader to step down. Ali Abdullah Saleh has ruled Yemen for 32 years and has agreed to step down, after the end of the year and when new elections can be set up.

After forces to Saleh opened fire on demonstrators last week, killing over 40, the protesters' ranks were bolstered by a series of high-level officials from the country's military, diplomatic corps and civil servants, including the president's former chief adviser, Ali Mohsen.

Today, President Saleh, convened a meeting of his ruling General People's Congress party to discuss the situation.

They recommended forming a new government to draft a new constitution based on a parliamentary system in line with reform offers by President Saleh.

'Members of the central committee of the People's Congress stress the quick need to form a government tasked with drafting a new constitution for the country on the basis of a parliamentary system,' a report said.

A party source said the its central committee, which contains thousands of members, had asked Saleh to stay in power until 2013, when his presidential term expires.

One of Saleh's first concessions when protests began in February was to say he would not seek another period in office beyond that date.

In an interview aired by Al Arabiya television on Sunday, Saleh said he was prepared for a dignified departure at any stage but that opposition parties were hijacking the protests to demand he quit without organising a democratic handover.

'I could leave power ... even in a few hours, on condition of maintaining respect and prestige,' he said.

'I have to take the country to safe shores ... I'm holding on to power in order to hand it over peaceably.''

But Saleh refuses to step down immediately, saying it would draw the country into a long civil war. He has offered to resign at the end of the year after setting new elections.

Madonna Sued By Charity Workers

Workers at Madonna's Malawi charity are suing Madonna. They claim they were dismissed and their benefits not payed.

No word from the Madonna camp and I'm not sure this is going to go anywhere but, it's interesting seeing Madonna being sued over charity work.

Eight workers at Madonna's Malawi charity are suing the pop star for unfair dismissal and non-payment of their benefits, their lawyer said on Sunday.

The board of the charity, Raising Malawi, was sacked after abandoning plans to build a state of the art girls' school just outside the capital Lilongwe due to mismanagement, the New York Times newspaper reported on Saturday.

Madonna, who has adopted two children from Malawi, lent $11 million to the organization and is now on the board.

The workers' lawyer, Mzondi Chirambo, said Madonna had 14 days to respond to their concerns.

"Their employment was terminated by the trustees of Raising Malawi Academy for Girls ostensibly following the change of plan not to build the school as planned," Chirambo said.

"My clients are also being forced to sign a discriminatory termination agreement before they are paid their benefits."

I don't know; Madonna makes a name for herself in the United States. We are the country that allowed her to flourish and become a success. She moves to England, basically insulting our country and talking bad about our ex-president. Now, she adopts babies from Malawi and does charity work in that country. I don't know. I guess I'd like to see her helping some Americans. After all, if you're going to complain that the government here doesn't offer enough to it's citizens, why would you help others in different countries?
