Teacher Allows Students to Dress Like Klan Members for Film

Catherine Ariemma is a teacher at Lumpkin County High School, located in North Georgia. She teaches an AP class that involves US History and film.

The class had decided to take on the topic of racism and, were apparently filming a scene that involved some students dressing like Klan members.

Ms. Ariemma is in trouble. A complaint by a black parent was made. She could be suspended or terminated.

I'm not sure this is an appropriate way to handle this. It's not like the class was wearing the "white sheets, with holes" because, they were racists. They were making a film about racism in the United States.

The problem is, we live in a world where people seem to be just looking for something to complain about. This teacher has been teaching for years, she has no bad record, she wasn't trying to do something wrong. People need to stop being so sensitive about stuff because, a lot of the time, there is nothing nefarious going on.
