Are Rich Celebs Like Alec Baldwin Dodging Taxes?

Actor Alec Baldwin owns a residence in the city, but claims Hamptons is his home base.

Say it ain't so! A rich, liberal celebrity not paying their fair share in taxes? I can't possibly believe this. These are folks that care about the poor and homeless. They work tirelessly telling the American people how Bush and his tax cuts for the wealthy were EVIL. There's just no chance in hell they wouldn't want to pay their taxes. I thought for sure that many of them paid more in taxes, just for the sheer reasons of being generous because, they are liberal. They are also better than everyone.

So, it turns out that the city of NY has been investigating some folks because, they appear to be fibbing about their home residence. Some of these celebrities have places in NYC but, claim it's not their home base.


Alec Baldwin insists that his home base is in the Hamptons but, it looks like he's fibbing and actually staying in the city more than 183 days --the amount of time where a person's tax bill increases.

The city has been doing aggressive audits to collect their tax money.

Now, of course, I want to point out that this is exactly what happens when a city has taxes that are just too high. People do things to skirt around paying. In some cases, it's not that people are looking for a free ride they just don't have the money to pay such enormous rates. They have to pay for other things in their lives: shelter, clothes, daycare, food, utility bills, and of course splurging on some entertainment now and then.

It is true comedy when you have a liberal like Alec Baldwin, presumably dodging taxes. We'll have to wait and see the results of his audit but, I have to say it wouldn't surprise me one bit if we find the man to be a huge hypocrite.
