Glenn Beck to Leave Fox and Start His Own Station

Michael Dinneen/Associated Press Glenn Beck already has his own media company, Mercury Radio Arts.
This is what the New York Times is discussing. It appears as though he is considering this option. I haven't listened to Glenn Beck in awhile, not because I don't love him but, because I simply do not have much time anymore. So, you'll have to let me know in the comments if this is actually true.

It seems up his alley in some ways, only because he's always trying to put his face on something. Back in the days when I was an Insider and quite active on his forum, he started his magazine and seemed to be constantly introducing new things and products for us to suck up and spend money on. Yes, I got a subscription to his magazine, and I ended up giving Glenn quite a bit of money over the years but, for the most part it was worth it. These days, I just don't have as much time.

If this is the route Beck chooses to take, I think he would get plenty of support. I'm not sure he'd take over a whole station but, perhaps a few hours of one?

Hey Glenn, I'd love to do an hour show on the Beck Network! I can see it now, "Tuesday Money hosts 'The Alternative Conservative' on the Beck Network!" Can you see my name in lights now? I sure can.

Glenn Beck Got All Savage

Well, what I mean is... he got angry! I've seen this before but, I was pretty impressed this time. Savage impressed.

Go, Beck, go!

The Tolerance of Liberals

Not sure if it's the moon and the stars but, this week liberals have been especially intolerant with me.

The example I'm providing now is an exchange with someone I was friends with in high school. I always liked the guy. I never had any issues with him but, I'm sure I will be "de-friended" soon.

I found him on Facebook and requested his friendship, and he accepted.

Now, notice the time difference between the last two responses from him. I didn't know how to respond to the Fox News comment. In my opinion, the guy probably doesn't even watch Fox News. He's a typical liberal that hates them for no other reason than being told they are evil from the likes of Media Matters, or some celebrity that said so. Personally, I'm not a fan of much of the media in general so, what do I care if he doesn't like Fox News?

I just let it drop because, what's the point? He's not conservative. That's fine. I don't need all my friends to think the same way I think. He couldn't let it drop though. He had to insult Glenn but, knowing that I'm a fan, he had to take a stab at me. Why? Why is he being so nasty over this?

I'm not sure what "negative cognitive dissonance" is... as opposed to "positive cognitive dissonance"? Does that even make sense? I didn't know what else to say but, "thank you for the insults." I'm not sure why it matters to him that I'm a Glenn Beck fan.

It just always amazes me how these people talk about tolerance but, what they really mean is they only have compassion, tolerance, and love for those that think the exact same way they do.

MSNBC Making Up the News Again

Once again we witness MSNBC's Rachel Maddow, trying desperately to understand world politics but as usual, when she can't understand something, she just provides insults to others covering the news. Of course, you know she's insulting Fox News.

What would 24 hours look like without MSNBC insulting and attacking the network that kicks their asses all the way up and down the playground on a daily basis? Like the little kid that gets picked last in gym class, MSNBC continues to create news by slinging mud, rather than trying to put in the hard time to work out and be strong.

Why bother trying to lead by example? If that's the problem that MSNBC has with Fox, you would think that their plans for their news would be actual news, right? No. Instead, they just watch their competitors and  do their best to attack, creating stories.

One thing is for sure, it does provide the world comedy and for that I'm grateful. Enjoy.

Michael Savage Files Lawsuit Against TRN

 Micheal Savage

Conservative radio talk show host Michael Savage has filed a lawsuit against his syndicator Talk Radio Network, claiming TRN is attempting to force him into “indentured servitude.”
According to court papers, the proposed Savage network would have links to the RightNetwork, an on-demand video service backed by actor Kelsey Grammer and sports and media mogul Ed Snider. Savage’s contract with Pattiz offers him 1 percent of the equity in the fledgling network.

TRN has the right to match an outside offer and has attempted to do so, but Savage asserts in his suit filed Monday that TRN’s proposal falls short of the offer from Courtside Radio. For example, he argues that TRN can’t match the stock equity offer proffered by RightNetwork.

Savage’s suit filed in federal court in the Northern District of California states: “Through the use of illegal and unenforceable contract provisions . . . and other strong-arm tactics designed to intimidate Dr. Savage, TRN is attempting to force Dr. Savage into accepting a sub-standard agreement containing what can only be described as an indentured servitude provision.”

The suit claims the TRN offer falls short financially and contains anticompetitive provisions that limit Savage’s negotiating rights and other terms not in the Courtside proposal.

The lawsuit also maintains that Savage’s show — which currently reaches about 8 million listeners a week — would receive “greater publicity” by moving to Westwood One’s Courtside Radio, and charges that TRN is attempting to “force him into an arbitration that wholly ignores his due process rights.”

Savage seeks a declaration that TRN failed to match Courtside’s offer and that an arbitration provisions in his TRN contract is illegal and unenforceable.

Without a favorable court ruling, Savage’s suit states, he faces the “significant risk of losing the Courtside opportunity, which is valued at several million dollars, and being forced to submit into an illegal arbitration.”

TRN’s President and CEO Mark Masters said: “Michael’s lawsuit against us is unjustified and frivolous” and “we are 100 percent confident that the courts will justify our position.”

Talkers magazine reports that Savage is the third-most listened to radio host in the nation behind Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity, and his show is currently aired on more than 300 stations across the nation.

I love Savage but, this lawsuit sounds somewhat odd but, I guess we'll have to wait and see. Any legal experts that would like to give their opinion?

I do love the fact that they did put that Savage is number 3 and it's NOT Glenn Beck! Beck always says he's number 3 but, he's not and he really never has been. I love Beck too but, he's wrong on this point.

George Soros

George Soros at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting 2010

Since Glenn Beck has brought up George Soros as being a puppet master, and has encouraged his audience to dig for themselves into who this man is so, I decided to actually read something written by George Soros.

Now, admittedly, I do not know much about this man. I've seen him on various news sources and, I am none too impressed with his ideas. The very mention of the man leaves me feeling quite chilly and almost uncomfortable. He is a representation of the far left, a person who is filled with anti-American sentiment.

After watching Glenn's special, I had decided to do a little internet search and read something this man has written concerning his particular views. I found an article almost immediately:

"The Capitalist Threat" by George Soros Atlantic Monthly, Volume 279, No. 2, February 1997

"  People must be free to think and act, subject only to limits imposed by the common interests."

There have been a number of times, where I will find myself reading something that seems very fascinating. I can tell a lot of thought and effort went into writing the piece. Then, it happens. The writer shifts and says something that is either a flat-out lie, or something that the writer actually believes but is amazingly ignorant. Let me explain.

In this article, Soros defines "open-societies" which he correctly identifies as those societies that support Laissez-faire ideologies concerning economic policies. He also correctly explains "closed societies" as those that promote communism and fascism. Almost immediately, and again correctly, he dismisses these extremities as being logical or plausible ideologies.

Here's where he takes his turn, where he is either lying or, he's just plain ignorant--

Soros then begins to explain that Laissez-faire economics have now become the real threat. He writes with the premise that those who support Laissex faire, believe it to be perfect knowledge, or having ultimate truth. He states that those of us who support Laissex-faire do so because, it will ultimately bring about this equilibrium and provide equality for everyone.

SCREEEEEETCH! What?!?!?!

That was my reaction. Who or what source has told him that people who support free markets do so because, it will bring about balance and equality? The very reason for supporting an "open-society" as Soros refers to it, is because we recognize that inequalities will ALWAYS exist, no matter what. Nothing is ever going to bring about equality on an economic scale. It is why it's better having the individual make their own choices as opposed to being able to blame the government for inequities, that makes the ideology superior.

I want to emphasize, however, that I am not putting laissez-faire capitalism in the same category as Nazism or communism. Totalitarian ideologies deliberately seek to destroy the open society; laissez-faire policies may endanger it, but only inadvertently. Friedrich Hayek, one of the apostles of laissez-faire, was also a passionate proponent of the open society. Nevertheless, because communism and even socialism have been thoroughly discredited, I consider the threat from the laissez-faire side more potent today than the threat from totalitarian ideologies. We are enjoying a truly global market economy in which goods, services, capital, and even people move around quite freely, but we fail to recognize the need to sustain the values and institutions of an open society.

Okay, well, there is a point I'm sure to be made that laissez-faire does have it's problems. I would not dispute that. In the sense that, yes, there are people that will suffer. There are people that will be poor. As the Bible says, the poor will always be amongst us but, those of us who believe in open societies, do not propose that everything will be perfect. Quite the contrary and, that is why I am terribly surprised at Soros' inferences here. Certainly he knows this...or, does he?

Finally, he continues with the article saying that open societies are based upon the principles of Darwinism. To some extent, he is correct in his assertions and comparisons here. The belief that people should have a great self interest and promote oneself is part of a successful blueprint to obtaining financial freedom in an open society.

Yes, indeed, Darwinism has been proven to be wrong in some regards, as Soros again correctly points out but, not all of Darwinism can be dismissed and we know this. Adaptations on various scales most definitely occur.

He then makes complaints about those who benefit by means of inheritances or, those that benefit by not doing right but, evil. So, let's talk about this for a moment:

Inheriting money is not an evil concept. There is nothing wrong from benefiting from the generation before you and, there is certainly nothing wrong with working hard so that the next generation can live comfortably. Let's face it, it's not just money that people are passing on; it's also a mind-set that comes with wealth. Just as a poverty mind-set is passed on to the next generation by less affluent families.

The simple psychology one learns given their environment while growing up and, later who they surround themselves with, helps determine the level of success one can achieve but, only in open societies can one have the option of changing their environment, making it more affluent, thereby improving themselves and their affluence, creating more wealth. In a closed society, this shift almost becomes impossible, keeping people "stuck" in a specific class of society.

Money and wealth do not know evil or good. Money is a neutral object and concept. Attracting money is not a matter of being good or evil but, a matter of whether you have limited yourself or not. However, if you are someone that has inherited money and make no attempt to understand money or, have a certain mind-set, you will loose all your money.

The same example can be found if you give a poor-mindset person a million dollars and visit them in a year, only to find they have completely blown all their money and, are in more debt then their previous state. Or, if you take all the money away from someone who has a wealth mindset, they will usually have all their money back in a year. These stories are tried and true and only prove that wealth is a mindset.

Society cannot fix an individual's mind-set. That has to come from within. As I have already argued, it is more plausible for person to switch their mindset when their economic environment pushes people to succeed, rather than just accepting their course and living comfortably off the government dole.

Those that benefit by doing evil or illicit things, usually will find some ironic justice in the end. Of course, a person's values dictate what they will or will not do. People who are void of morality and obtain wealth through these means will ultimately destroy themselves. Does this always happen? Honestly, I cannot say for sure. Probably not. I do NOT know every wealthy person who has brought about wealth by illicit means. It IS my faith that leads me to believe this.

It is my personal observation of the wealthy people that I do know, that wealth was obtained by honesty, hard work, and providing a good or service that was needed by others. The only evil rich folks I know about are from the news, people I do not know personally, and Nancy Pelosi...(and look what's happening to her!)

Soros proposes a society that wipes out the values as we know and, proposes an economic policy that is open but, recognizes it's fallibility and, that there is no way of obtaining perfect knowledge. Then, he states:

"  People must be free to think and act, subject only to limits imposed by the common interests."

He further says that it's not enough to be a democrat but, that we must be liberal democrats. It's all about this common good he hopes to achieve but, didn't he say before that he recognizes those ideas do not work?

Soros just talks in circles. He's afraid to make a stand. It is certainly noble to have concern for everyone but, if you recognize the limitations that we have and, that governments have, why would you propose more control from a government? Wouldn't you be more concerned with helping people by providing them an environment that they could thrive in? One that could provide them with the motivation to rise above and promote morality?

It's not that those of us that believe in free societies do not recognize the inequalities; of course we do. It's simply a matter of fostering the most positive environment for growth of companies, as well as individuals. Competition in markets provide for this. It is simple fact and, having knowledge is power. It's nothing to be afraid of.

If Soros wants to help people, he should worry about himself, and remain an example of success, rather than trying to be an architect of fantasy.

My final conclusion-- I think Soros has a big head. It's clear this man has some serious delusions of grandeur. He has it in his mind that he is going to somehow change the world with his "vision of fallibility." The whole article is silly and almost embarrassing. The man doesn't appear to be stupid but, when you have an idea that is based on a premise that isn't even true, how can you follow that with a logical conclusion?

Something I Have to Say

One thing that always frustrates me is seeing the words of so many conservatives taken completely out of context and turned into something that just never even existed and, it amazes me the amount of liberals I see that buy right into it.

I don't always get to listen to Glenn Beck but, I did for years. I really enjoy him and his comedy. He's not my favorite radio talk show host (we all know SAVAGE is!!!!), but he's good. I like him. I get so sick and tired of seeing liberals dog the guy and, act like it's a crime that he's funny. They call him cookoo and, say that he's a nut. They take his words and spin them.

Take for instance when Glenn told his audience (and he's done so a few times), to not believe him, but to go out and research the stories for yourself and, to think for yourself. Somehow, the liberals got a hold of this comment and turned it into Glenn saying that he doesn't believe what he's saying and, is making fun of his audience. They completely failed to miss his entire point! The idea that we need to check everything for ourselves, no matter what source it comes from.

They said that Glenn admits he's "evil." That came from the, "I'm an evil conservative" statement Glenn makes, as a JOKE!

It seems like any joke or statement a conservative makes, whether it be Ann Coulter, or Sean Hannity, the words are somehow twisted with liberals because, apparently they cannot laugh at themselves. Everything the right does is serious and evil.

For liberals, they are the funny ones. They are the good people. They dictate what is good for others. Isn't that simply ironic?

You know what I find funny? I find it pretty funny that the same group of people that go around complaining about how horrible George Bush was, can't name one single instance where a person was denied their civil liberties. They can't name one American whose phone was tapped. They cannot find one example of where anyone was violated by the Bush administration. Oh, but they sure like to throw around words like "war crimes" and other nonsense.

I also love that liberals talk about how they care so much about protecting gays and women but, always seem to favor support for Islam. Islam is a religion that supports the stoning of homosexuals. They also mutilate women, and cover them from head to toe as a matter of daily practice. Yet, liberals see nothing wrong with building a mosque overlooking Ground Zero.

Can people really be this ignorant AND not have any clue as to when someone is being funny and, when they are being serious?

The Things Some People Do

I got a message on FB this evening asking me to "explain why" I was a fan of Margret Thatcher and Glenn Beck (you can see the fan pages on my profile because, FB won't allow me to block them).

He sent me a message asking about my Margret Thatcher page:

Life (the title of his message)......ok, you're good, and you knew that, but what's the deal with Maggy
T.I.N.A. Thatcher....affectionately known as "there is no alternative" ?
Not that we have a favorite....

I was confused at first but, he finally explained that he was looking at a list of my "fan pages" and...

..you have this page that says...you know...Maggs...the Baroness.....
she who was ' Roberts' and became 'Thatcher'....I was wondering the
how and why....wence and wither...of said page...not the usual listing.
(Sorry but I'm watching the Bill Moyers rerun with Simon and Co.)

and

...Jenn (may I call you Jenn?)...sorry , but you have a rotating list of..
310 pages..that we all get to see and Ms. Thatcher was 'on deck' for
me....now it's 'Gucci' and the inimitable....'Glenn Beck'
(...gee 'Beck' was kind of cool, but Glenn?) cheers

I responded to him:

My friends call me Tuesday.

A rotating list? Are you talking about pages I belong to on FB? I am so confused.

Yes, I like Margret Thatcher. I'm not sure what you'd like me to explain. :/

~Tuesday

His response:

Ms. Thatcher appears and I flash upon her catch phrase....T.I.N.A.
well known across the planet....the problem was me...not you.....
(but Glenn Beck?...really?...ever hear of Noam Chomsky?)...please
feel free to explain anything to me, I'm here all week.....two shows a night....I think it might be time to ' fire up the color-tinis and watch the pictures as they fly through the air'....'Moyers' is done for now.
cheers

Ever hear of Noam Chomsky? Really? Okay, here's my response to him:

I still have no idea what you'd like me to explain. You and I are obviously at opposite ends of the political spectrum.

I wouldn't expect you to "explain" yourself to me anymore than I should "explain" MYself to anyone. I would never just send someone a message asking them "why they are liberal?" "why they like a certain political figure?" It seems as though you are asking me why I am conservative? Why I like Glenn Beck? Why I like Margret Thatcher?

Because, I do.

I am not sure if you are trying to get into some sort of political battle? Usually, people just accept my views as I accept theirs (if they differ from mine), and we move on. I don't even know you or, what your angle is here. I feel very put-off right now.

I am not interested in getting into a fight with anyone about politics. You don't seem like a mean person at all. Perhaps you are trying to strike up a conversation? Forgive me if that is your only intention. I have to be quite careful on Facebook, as I have already once lost my account due to "friendly conversation" with people who are not on my side of the political spectrum. Many others on here have undergone the same problems.

~Tuesday

Well, this didn't stop him from replying with this:

Sorry again, m'lady and 'my bad'....I've tried to move on from the right
vs. left smokescreen, that keeps this country disstracted and continue the analysis of 'up vs. down' or' top and bottom'....but to
do this you have to look at the old guys....and I started with the
CBS guy Edward R. Murrow....it was a different world 50-60-70
years ago, some of the same problems, some different solutions
but a real conversation used to exist in this country...along with
real news organizations that we no longer have.....
This is my problem, not yours....so not to worry /not a problem.
Someday...when you run out of things to do...look up Ed Murrows
speech from 1957, I believe, delivered to the RTNDA...rather famous as his 'lights and wires in a box' speech and see if you can't
appreciate...a different outlook....a different reality.
Other than that....have a good life....call anytime....I think you'll
do well.
Apologies for the lack of communication/consensus...my error.
sincerely....
(He did sign his name and I am not using his name on this!)

Okay, I admit, I'm really bad at wanting to have the "last word." Call it a flaw:

I don't need a different outlook. I started my life on stage and in the theatre. I used to be a liberal. I finally became educated. I studied chemistry and math. I also took some higher level courses in political science.

I have a very well rounded education. I also happen to have a great understanding of politics and the science of politics. I am very well versed on many things. I am not a dimwit just because, I happen to be conservative. For some reason, people on the "left" get this idea that conservatives are somehow small minded, we're stupid, we are not educated, but, that is simply because the media has worked hard to void us out as best they can.

I am glad you apologized. Apology is accepted and, again, I didn't mean to be defensive but, you must understand, your comment, "you've heard of Noam Chomsky?" came off quite condecending. Of course I've heard of Noam Chomsky. Of course I know who Edward Murrow is (too bad for him Joseph McCarthy was indeed RIGHT). It comes off as if you are saying, I must be stupid because, I like Glenn Beck. It sounds very rude and elitist.

Maybe it's YOU that needs a different outlook? I don't know. I wouldn't be as so bold as to tell a stranger this just because, they are a fan of someone I didn't like.

Again, maybe you didn't mean it that way but, I think you would agree that if you go over what you wrote- when you write this to a stranger, who is completely unaware of who you are, and also is only reading your words. without the benefit of other cues like, tone and body language, I think you will understand.

Thank you for clarifying and I hope I have clarified myself as well.

Goodnight-

~Tuesday

I don't know what to think of this. I really don't think this man was trying to be rude to me but, it does demonstrate how some of these folks can be, even without having a bad intention. I'm not sure he realized how pretentious he came across.

Anyway, just thought it was rather odd and wanted to share with you.

Glenn Beck Asks Why Obama Is Creating a Civilian Army

Here's a clip from the Glenn Back show I thought I would post.

I think the video speaks for itself. I'm not sure what the democrats are up to. Obama has spoken about this before. I'm not a conspiracy type person at all. I've been down that road a few times and always come up empty handed. This, however, is something that democrats have been talking about for awhile now and, now that they have control, this just may be a possibility.

FOX's Glenn Beck Vs. CNN's Rick Sanchez Over Sanchez's Comments

I love youtube. I can find almost anything on here and easily get myself lost in so much footage and audio. It's just like a library only, I don't have to leave my home.

I just found this piece of gold and wanted to share this. Great stuff.

While I love Glenn Beck, I am a HUGE Stu fan!!!! Listen to Stu "go off"! It's pretty damn sexy...not as sexy as Savage but, sexy.
