Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke
Rush Limbaugh recently called some girl by the name of Sandra Fluke a slut. Apparently she is a law student and she is advocating for "reproductive health care needs" which means condoms and other types of birth control.
Fluke entered the spotlight earlier this month when she attempted to speak before the House Oversight and Government Reform hearing on religious liberty and the birth control rule, and Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) refused to let her, saying she was unqualified to speak on the issue.Click title of post for the article.
Fluke was invited to speak for the Democrats and was going to be the only woman on the panel. Three Democrats, Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-N.Y.), Rep. Mike Quigley (D-Ill.) and Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-D.C.), walked out of the hearing as a result.
Limbaugh made the argument on his radio show Wednesday that Fluke's desire for birth control was a promotion of casual sex.
"What does it say about the college co-ed Susan Fluke [sic] who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex -- what does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute," Limbaugh said. "She wants to be paid to have sex. She's having so much sex she can't afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex."
First off, I read two articles on this topic. Both of them only mentioned that Rush called some girl a slut for talking about contraception. This article seems to put things into a slightly different light. Second of all, I am so glad they kicked this girl out of the hearing. Who the hell is she anyway? Some Georgetown student? I am wondering how this seemingly unknown law student gained access to our government officials in the first place. What is her connection? She certainly did not come from thin air but she also is clearly not a qualified individual to be testifying on contraception.
What is the big deal? Democrats are calling for the Republicans to condemn that language? What does Rush have to do with the Republicans? He may be one but he is NOT an elected official. He is a PRIVATE citizen who happens to have a radio show. He can say whatever he wants.
It might seem as though Rush has a point. I'm not sure calling names like "slut" or "prostitute" are necessarily the right way to win to people over but Rush's audience is mostly conservative anyway. Conservatives just do not get terribly outraged over names. The only time it becomes irritating is when you have demonrats like David Letterman or Rosie O'Donnell or Bill Maher, who go on tv constantly and say nasty, horrible things about anyone that does not agree with them. They call people vile names and make tasteless, cruel jokes and the liberal media says absolutely nothing about it. Oh but if a Republican says something the same or similar, it's the end of the world and everyone must be held accountable. Everyone take names because the Dems mean business!
The woman is telling the government (us), that they (us), should pay for her contraception. Last time I checked, having sex was a choice, unless it's rape. If this woman is choosing not to have sex, she will not have to worry about contraception. The answer seems simple to me. It does appear as though she is asking to be compensated some how for having a sex life. What's it called when a woman is given something for sex? Oh, what do they call those girls? You know...the ones that have sex for money or something in return? Oh yeah...prostitutes.
I don't know. I think Rush is making a great point here. He is simply calling her a prostitute because she is asking the government if she can be one.
I understand that perhaps birth control could help prevent unwanted babies or whatever. Some argue that rather than the children going on state aide, birth control could be a solution but there comes a point when those "values" abhor others. You cannot take money from people who find such government spending absurd and immoral, and not expect a full, blown-out argument.
What irritates me most is that liberals like this
No one is shutting up Sandra. Only Sandra can shut herself up. No one even cares what Rush said. He was making a point. This is the type of woman I want to approach one day and yell in her face, "GET OVER YOURSELF ALREADY!"

How did some Catholic priest wind up with access to Congress? How in any way is a Catholic priest qualified to speak about birth control(couldn't think of anybody less qualified)?
No conservatives don't get too upset about names, that's why they called Anita Hill "a little bit nutty and a little bit slutty"(even though she rejected the unwanted sexual advances of Uncle Thomas)and they constantly refer to liberals as "sick", or "pathetic" or "unpatriotic" etc.
No conservatives never get upset about names, that's why they are so free with their insults towards others.
We only get upset about names when that is all the liberals have to offer for their arguments. Calling someone a name does not qualify as a prima facie argument, as many liberals seem to think.
I have no problem with name calling but, kindly back that up with some information...a logical statement, some critical thinking, offer up something to spark discussion, not shut down debate, which is always the ultimate goal of the modern liberal.
Calling Rush a fat ass or a drug user, and then having the nerve to complain about calling some nobody a slut just doesn't make any sense to me or anyone with a few synapses firing. I guess you now have your answer as to why conservatives call liberals sick and pathetic. Liberalism is a mental disorder, plain and simple. It is void of common sense, totally based on feelings, selective outrage, made up facts, made up rules, and immature insults. That is not a philosophy. That is just projecting your inner problems onto other people.
There are liberals who know how to debate but they are a dying breed since, most of the smart ones grew up and became conservatives. That's what happens when people grow and mature. They leave their silly, liberal ideas behind.
