The 69-year-old Gadhafi is the first leader to be killed in the Arab Spring wave of popular uprisings that swept the Middle East, demanding the end of autocratic rulers and the establishment of greater democracy.
After he was killed, his body was placed on top of a vehicle and paraded around for all to see and celebrate. From the article, there are a few different versions of how he died. It seems as though he did receive at least two gun shots, one to the head and another to the chest. He died from those wombs not long after.
