Daley Out

Chief of Staff William Daley is stepping down. The reason for this has to do with the discovery of him appointing Pete Rouse to take care of day-to-day tasks.

But Daley never appeared comfortable in the job, drawing criticism during the White House’s fight with Congressional Republicans during the debt ceiling negotiations last summer. In one embarassing rebuke, Obama requested to speak to a rare joint session of Congress in September only to be rejected by House Speaker John A. Boehner, who invited him instead to come a day later. The White House claimed that Daley had secured Boehner’s agreement to the original date ahead of time, but the speaker’s office denied that an agreement was in place.

Another Kennedy?

NEW YORK — Joseph P. Kennedy III, a 31-year-old Massachusetts prosecutor, will run for Congress this year in a bid to resurrect the dynasty of America's most famous political family, reports said Thursday. 

Kennedy is in the final stages of preparing a Congressional run, with hopes to succeed retiring Democratic Representative Barney Frank, the Boston Globe and Rhode Island Public Radio reported, quoting family and Democratic sources.

Do we really need another Kennedy? The only fascination of this family is how they have been able to get away with being such a bunch of crooks.

Nope. I am not a Kennedy fan. President John F. Kennedy wasn't even in office long enough to be considered anything but that he was the president that got assassinated. So many people just worship and freak out over him. I don't get it.

My mother, rest her soul, LOVED the Kennedy's. She tried making me read all this crap about how great they are. Something so unnatural about the people who love the Kennedy's. I mean the people that really go ga-ga over them. My mom wasn't quite that bad. Thank goodness.

Just Opening Up a Bit...

I thought I would write this post after some recent exchanges on my blog with some great people who have stopped by and commented. Thank you so much!

Here's the deal...the bio I wrote for this blog was done in a slightly professional manner because I feel it's important to try and make a good presentation of oneself. You have to try, right? That being said, I really don't want people to think that I'm someone who thinks I know everything. I have had to admit to being wrong on my blog before. This doesn't bother me at all and I'm sure it will happen again. I also take people's criticisms and decide if there is any value in them. This is why I engage people. I love to hear the arguments and the opinions and I love to get a little heated -- as my friends are very familiar with but, I really do love everyone. I just don't love everyone's opinion.

I'm an ex-improv comedian actress, known for being a class clown, an ex-club kid, a "Van Wilder" student that wanted to just stay in school, an ex-liberal, an over-the-top optimist, interested in science and math, and a dork.

I'm not some brilliant writer but I am trying and I am reading more, as well as taking some free English classes online. I really do want to improve as a writer. I majored in about 7 subjects in college (none were English), finally settled on chemistry and was very, very close to graduating before I ran off to Baltimore and got married. Now, some might see this as absolutely crazy and they would be right. I do have a sweet daughter and for that it was worth it.

I started this blog because I like politics. I love my country and I really felt as though I had some interesting opinions on life and things in general. Still, I realize I need to do better! I still feel great that I started my blog but I understand and I know I am one in a million. I don't even hold a candle to some of the great blogs and deep analysis I have seen from others on the internet. I want to be that. I want this blog to be something of real value and I am just learning along the way.So, understand I don't take myself too seriously either. I just want to learn and hopefully provide some value to others along the way.

Obama to Cut Defense

Obama plans to put a half million people out of a job. This is according to the recent story that Obama plans to cut defense drastically and change our focus to Asia.

Of course the article doesn't exactly say 500k military will be left to fend for themselves. They use the word "cut" like it's not much of a big deal.

When is it ever okay to announce to the world you are making plans to cut your military in a drastic manner? I'm just not sure I'm comfortable with this choice Obama is making. Anyone?

It's almost as if I'm stunned like a deer in headlights. Are you f@cking kidding me? You're joking, right? You don't know why I don't like Ron Paul?
