That Story About Zoey Tur and Ben Shapiro

Zoey Tur is known among the transgender community and has been recognized in the past for being an American broadcaster and designing one of the first modern helicopters used for reporting. She was obviously asked to come on Dr. Drew's show, Dr. Drew On Call, because the topic being discussed was Bruce Jenner or Caitlyn Jenner receiving an Arthur Ashe Courage Award during the 2015 ESPY Awards.

Jenner is reported to have received this award for her courage in stepping forward, and embracing the truth. Clearly not everyone sees Jenner announcing her transition as being courageous.

In the video you can clearly see that Zoey becomes easily irritated after Ben makes the statement that men born men are still male. Zoey than grabs Ben behind the neck and declares that if he doesn't cut it out he'll be taken home in an ambulance. Rather than taking the time to articulate her points about gender and genetics, Tur decided to take the familiar ad hominem attack approach, stalling her time with repeated jabs at Shapiro, "you don't know what you're talking about," and "you're a little man."

Of course we all would hope that an ambulance would take a person directly to a hospital and not to the patient's home but putting that detail aside, it's pretty clear to most people this action was well out of line. Passion or not, threatening someone in this manner and on live TV would land most people in the unemployment line.

However what shocked me even more was Dr. Drew's dismissal of what had occurred. Dr. Drew and Adam Corolla do a talk show and they invited Shapiro on to discuss this incident.

At 38:30 is where the discussion begins.

Ben Shapiro announced that after the show he went to the police department to file for a battery charge. He further explained that Tur continued with her threats off camera saying she wanted to meet him in the parking lot and curb stomp him. Curb stomp is a colloquialism for putting someone's teeth on a curb and stomping them on the back of the head.

Dr. Drew dismissed Shapio saying he "gets threatening Tweets all the time" and doesn't report anything to the police. He then carried on and suggested the media does not have an agenda, they simply want to have more views and to do the most popular stories. Shapiro pointed out to Drew that if this were true, the mainstream would be doing stories that Fox does since they continually rank #1 among the competing news sources.

For all the things the left does, it was shocking that Tur had supporters who were justifying her behavior. The Young Turks even did a video where Cenk Uygur actually claims that Shapiro was threatening Tur by trying to, "take her rights away"??? I was completely perplexed by this claim since Shapiro is a reporter and not a politician, nor did he once claim to support legislation for limiting the rights of transgender people. Cenk than called Shapiro a baby by using a sound clip featuring a baby crying. He also chose to only play a portion of the video and purposely removed the part that clearly showed Tur putting her hand on Shapiro's neck.

So exactly what was Shapiro supposed to do? Fight with Zur? Hit a girl? Can we for once take a moment to think about what would happen if he didn't take Zur seriously? Or what would have happened if Ben had been the one to do the same thing to Zoey? In all honestly Zoey may identify with being a woman but her actions can only be described as being alpha-male and let's face it, Zoey isn't exactly demure. Ben had a valid reason to take her threats seriously and going to the police was not only a wise move but necessary. It makes the statement that not only is he willing to take a stand but he is doing it the legal way. This is why we have police. Are people on the left now suggesting that we take the law into our own hands? 

Ironic how people who are fighting for gender rights would actually call Ben a little boy or insinuate he wasn't acting manly enough. Does anyone else see the irony here? I feel like these people live in a world of circular logic and fail to even recognize this. What is with the double standards here? How hard is it to admit Zoey made a poor choice in her behavior? Instead she and her supporters are actually calling Ben a bully. A bully? How exactly was Ben being a bully? Expressing an opinion that doesn't agree with theirs is now bullying but making threats is perfectly fine?

I am at a complete loss as to how some people have arrived at these illogical conclusions. I was trying very hard to understand what their reasoning was but, it really just boils down to them approving any and all behaviors by those that align with their political philosophy and demeaning anyone for anything they do if that person is against them politically.
