Romney Wins Debate, Obama Has a Meltdown

Let me first start off by saying, I truly thought this debate would be a close call. I calculated that if you liked Romney, you would think Romney won and if you liked Obama, you would think Obama won. I can proudly and clearly state with full confidence that Romney kicked Obama's ASS!

So, let's do a recap of what happened tonight...

First the two men entered onto the stage and greeted each other. No matter who you are, you have to admit it's nice to see our politicians being cordial with one another regardless of their differences. Better that than two people trying to kill one another, right? It's nice being an American where we DO have debates and where politicians can at least appear to be respectful of each other. Anyway...

Obama went first and of course he has to thank everyone and he made mention that this was him and his wife's anniversary. The first question was simple and typical, basically just asking what direction we are going. Of course Obama starts off with criticizing Bush. He didn't say that outright but he suggested it with his, "When I came into office there was a huge mess and, we all know where that came from." He then stressed the importance of investing in training and education for the American people. The rest of it was the same old song and dance we've heard from Obama a million times.

Now Romney...he said congratulations to the pair for their anniversary and made a joke about how happy they must be for being there and with him on their special night. He immediately starts off with an anecdotal story about people asking him if he can help. I am not big on this approach so I sort of sighed at this point but, surprisingly he went into a five point plan that basically calls for us to be energy independent, fix the trade imbalance, improve skills for workers, balance the budget, and champion small business. He was quick, simple, and impressive. I began to sit up and take notice.

Obama then went on to tell us how he wants to hire more math and science teachers and lower corporate taxes. Since when does he want to lower corporate taxes? Throughout the debate Obama repeated over and over again that Romney was going to cut taxes to the tune of five trillion dollars for the rich. Romney flat out denies this and he does so several times. He actually had a great quip that went something like, "I have five boys and I know all about someone telling me something that's not true but they think if they repeat it enough I will begin to believe them." Romney continued to say that Obama's plan of "trickle down government" doesn't work.

This early into the debate I can start to see stark differences in these two men. Romney is looking at Obama almost the entire time he speaks. He is very sharp and really comes across as someone who knows what he is talking about. Obama on the other hand is looking down. He could be taking notes but his face gave me and many others the impression that he was mad. This anger never subsided as the debate went on. In fact, as the debate continued, his expressions became more prominent and his anger was obvious. I would compare it to my four year old getting ready to throw a temper tantrum. The man looked as if he was about to come unhinged.

Romney correctly points out that while oil production has increased, it was done on private land and that under Obama government production of oil has decreased fifty percent. He also stated that he is for the pipeline that Obama killed and that would also provide jobs for the American people.

At this point, Obama goes back to talking about taxes and says that he lowered taxes for middle class and this helped give people a little more money so that they could go out and purchase things like maybe a car. So, interestingly enough Obama admits that lower taxes create more spending, more revenue, more jobs. Here Obama is doing the classic liberal move -- talking out both sides of his mouth. He likes to spread the wealth around by increasing taxes but admits that taxes must be lowered to help people. Wow. He then states he wants to stimulate small business growth. He also repeats that Romney wants some five trillion dollar tax cut and basically calls Romney a liar.

Then Obama carries on about investing in science and math. To be honest, I'm not sure what he's referring to other than his plan to hire more teachers. He was verbally fumbling around and somewhat going all over the map. At one point, he looked at the moderator and said to move on to another topic. Now this has been viewed by many as Obama trying to avoid further questions but, to be fair, I'm not so sure. In fact, the moderator mentioned a few times that he wanted to move on, so I think Obama was simply acknowledging that he heard the moderator wanted to move on. I guess you can take this how you want but I would rather criticize him for things that are solid, rather that those open entirely to interpretation.

Romney says that Obama will raise small business taxes from 35% to 40%. Obviously a tax increase like this will not help small businesses and as Obama himself just stated, tax increases will not help stimulate the economy. Romney vehemently states that there is no 5 trillion dollar tax cut he's proposing. He points out that when Obama came into office, 32 million were on foodstamps and that has now risen to a whopping 47 million.

Now on to the deficit. Romney makes a point to say that the continued increase of the national deficit is absolutely immoral. He wants us to make changes so that our children will not have to pay for the rest of their lives. He offers three ways of cutting the deficit and they include raising taxes, cutting spending, and increasing growth. He feels as though cutting spending along with increasing growth are the best options for cutting the deficit. He will cut government spending on programs that our invaluable and one of those is Obamacare.

Obama takes his turn and immediately comes out complaining about what "he inherited"  and of course this is code for, "It's all Bush's fault." He brags about how he's cut many programs and one of them was a wasteful military program. One trillion dollars in spending was cut by the great Obama. He then stated that Romney will cut out government programs that help kids with disabilities.

Again, I have to state that while all this is going on, Romney is talking to Obama. Obama is looking down, looking angry, and when he speaks he simply seems to be repeating things we've already heard before. It's the same sh!t, different day with this guy. There was actually a point where Obama said, "It's all up on the website..." which is exactly what he said REPEATEDLY during his first presidential debates in 2008. It's almost like you could see him catching himself and then he dropped that from his dialogue.

Romney replies, "You've been president for four years. We still have deficits, Mr. President." He points out how horrible things are in Spain because of their drastic 42% in government spending which is where we currently are at in this country. Again, he states clearly that more government spending and higher taxes will not help the economy.

So now Obama is fuming. He looks confused and he starts criticizing Romney's plan to close up loopholes in the tax code but that Romney has never mentioned how he is going to do this. Then he makes some bizarre claim that you can move your company overseas and get some tax cut? Honestly, I tried making sense of what he said but I will probably have to go back over the debate to hear it again. It didn't make sense to me and it certainly didn't make sense to Romney who responded with, "I've been a business man for 25 years and I have no idea what you're talking about. Maybe I should fire my accountant." That being said, if this is something that Obama is concerned about then why are we just now hearing about it and why has he not done anything about it for four years? I'm not sure what he was exactly referring to here so, we'll have to wait and see what the "experts" say.

Romney continues the blows by pointing out the failure of Obama spending 90 billion dollars on green energy and most of these adventures being failures.

Entitlements is the next topic and Romney and Obama seem to be okay with Social Security. Obama makes some anecdotal reference about his grandma or aunt or someone being able to rely on Social Security and Medicare. He wants to make sure these are there to help the people that worked all their lives. Of course this is all well and good but neither of them discussed what a failure this program has become or how they will sustain its existence when we have baby boomers now retiring. I also do not see anything fair about having people pay into the system their entire lives and if they die early, all that money is kept for the government. Families do not receive any of that money.

Romney goes after Obama for cutting Medicare in order to pay for his Obamacare. It should become more and more obvious to those of you with a brain that Obama never planned on continuing Medicare or Medicaid. The sole purpose of Obamacare was to remove all other options. The goal has ALWAYS been to get everyone on the government plan. It was never about choice. All that stuff they told us about how this was not a tax has been exposed as a fat lie when the Obama administration argued to the Supreme Court that it was a tax! Always the dems talking out of both sides of their mouths.

Obama states that Romney wants to turn health care into a voucher program and then cites some study done by AARP. AARP? Is this guy serious??? That group is the most liberal leaning, biased, fraudulent organization I have ever come across. I will try not get too far off topic but I feel it necessary to let people know...I know first hand that AARP takes money from the elderly promising them that they will negotiate lower rates for them in a variety of establishments and one of those promises is with popular hotels. I have worked for a few hotels and I can tell you that AARP almost does NOTHING to negotiate rates. AAA does so, if you are looking for a REAL group that can help get you discounts, you are better off to go with them. AARP does NOTHING for their members. The rates they negotiate are higher than normal rates. Do not ask for the AARP rate; you will get screwed. Period. In very few cases you can receive a decent discount but overall the promises they make to their members are outright lies.

I digress... So Obama mentions something about how no one is better off with less regulation. Romney states he's not against regulations, however when the regulations are unclear and confusing something needs to be changed. Romney gets back on track with the topic of health care and talks about businesses dropping care and how doctors are planning on not accepting Medicare anymore. He rightly points out that costs are going up, not down. Again, this was always part of the plan and had people read the damn bill, they would have known this but instead they trusted the big-eared idiot believing that costs would go down and that they would have a choice.

Obama makes his points about health care and how his concern was for those who felt they could not get sick because they would go bankrupt. He needed to protect those with pre-existing conditions and help keep younger people on their parents' plans for a longer period of time. This all means that insurance companies cannot "jerk us" around anymore. Well, that's true because they won't exist for much longer.

Now, Romney talks about his health care plan and how it was a bipartisan effort. He even points out how Obamacare was basically shoved down our throats. Now this is a great point because even the state of Massachusetts elected a Republican Senator and that should have been a clue to Obama that most Americans did not want a federal run health care system. The ONLY reason we have Obamacare is because of the blatant voter fraud that took place in the state of Minnesota, where Al Franken and his cronies fought tooth and nail to keep those criminal voter ballots in the final count. He made up the majority count in the Senate for the bill to be passed and that's exactly why the dems freaked out when initial results brought in a loss for Franken.

During this point in the debate, Obama is fuming and about to foam at the mouth. Absolutely NO eye contact is made with Romney because he's too busy looking off to the side or down at his podium.

The final topic is a question concerning the differences in opinions about the role of government. Obama answers by stating the federal government should keep the American people safe and provide for them in a way that will enhance freedom. For some reason he starts to praise Lincoln but I'm not sure praising a Republican at this point is going to be a winning argument for him. Yes, you're right Obama, it's pretty much always been the Republicans who stand for freedom of ALL people and they have mostly been great leaders.

By this point, I expected Romney to blow this one out of the park and I was not disappointed. He made references to our Constitution and preserving the idea of the pursuit of happiness. He said that our rights are inalienable and we are G-d's children. Government does not do a better job at making choices for us.

Now, there was a little bit of an exchange in this last part of the debate that revolved around schools and while Obama wants to improve schools, Romney boldly and proudly states that his state is ranked number one in schools across the nation.

Closing statements were nothing special. Obama simply repeated the same old crap he has for the past four years and Romney promised jobs and growth and no Obamacare.

Now for the results from the media...Oh yeah...Romney won and it wasn't even close.

The best part? Chris Matthews breaking down...

Debate on MSNBC?? What debate is this? Your network only has ONE side commentary. That's not debate, Chris. That's just hating on Romney/Ryan like you do every night.
