Lefty Progressives Making Things Simple - Guns, Terrorists, and Victims

The recent tragic terror attack in San Bernardino has sparked intense conversation on the internet. Leave it to our lefty, progressive pals to lecture us on the dangers of "assault weapons" (it's rather agonizing they still don't realize ALL guns are assault weapons), and how if only we could make more laws, shootings would no longer occur. They seem to base this belief on magic.

Take this recent exchange on Facebook, where one man informs us of such an easy, simple way to stop all gun violence:

Perhaps it's their insecurity in the world that makes these sort of people lash out at things like facts and reason.

In a horrific example of journalism, Linda Stasi for the New York Daily News decided to give the terrorists a pass on killing one of their victims, Nicholas Thalasinos, whom she describes as an equal bigot deserving his death. She makes this point very clear when she states at the beginning of the article there were "13 innocent victims," as opposed to the actual number of 14.

She compares the men, leaving the reader to believe there is almost no difference between them, except for the fact that one is dead due to the other's actions.

What they didn’t realize is that except for their different religions they were in many ways similar men who even had the same job.

Yes, apparently Stasi views bigotry as being equivalent to that of being a terrorist. Still, she only makes this conclusion based on some posts this man made on Facebook. Even worse, she doesn't provide any screencaps showing these supposed rants filled with bigotry so, I guess we are just supposed to take her word for it. She continues:

Thalasinos was an anti-government, anti-Islam, pro-NRA, rabidly anti-Planned Parenthood kinda guy, who posted that it would be “Freaking Awesome” if hateful Ann Coulter was named head of Homeland Security. He asked, “IS 1. EVERY POLITICIAN IS BOUGHT AND PAID FOR? 2. EVERY POLITICIAN IS A MORON? 3. EVERY POLITICIAN IS RACIST AGAINST JEWS?” He also posted screeds like, “You can stick your Muslim Million Man march up your asses,” and how “Hashem” should blow up Iran.

So dedicated to ad hominem attacks, Stasi actually worded this in such a way that would lead the reader to believe it was Thalasinos who called Ann Coulter "hateful." Exactly who is this Stasi to determine who is hateful and who is not? Did she join some moral-brigade I am unaware of? How exactly does claiming Coulter to be hateful not make her a bigot? Last I checked, being a bigot simply means being intolerant of another person's views.

The entire article is merely just a confirmation that in the minds of extreme lefties, some people are more equal than others. If you chose to kill someone, just make sure it's one of those right-wingers because they sort of deserve it, right? Don't blame the radical and his fanatical religion that drives him to commit a terrorist act, just blame the victim.

The simplistic and irrational thinking is never in short supply on the far-left.

Though California has strict gun-laws, this terrorist attack still managed to occur. Even IF one of the victims was indeed a bigot, he most certainly was not the one who carried out this murderous deed, and there is no comparing a rant on Facebook with the work of a murdering terrorist. Thalasinos was an innocent victim who did not commit any crime, despite what Stasi would like to believe. Having a different opinion that isn't "politically correct" is not reflective of someone worthy of death. Perhaps Stasi should worry about her own bigotry, or at least have a better command of the English language.

The truth is in the US, there is no clear pattern of gun laws automatically leading to less gun crimes. This also means that less gun laws do not mean more or even less crime either. The numbers can actually be skewed in such a way that either side can make arguments depending on where they fall on the ideological spectrum. Many of these statistics involve suicide, which is technically a crime but only the person pulling the trigger is the victim.

I wish I could tell you it's more clear-cut but, our country is quite unique since we cover not only a large amount of land but as you travel across this country you will find many different types of mindsets. A small town in the South will be vastly different from a major metropolitan city in the North. There are many anomalies that both sides will hold up as an example. For example, DC has many strong gun control laws, yet it also has one of the highest markings for gun violence. On the other hand, places like NY and NJ also have many gun laws and their gun crime rates have indeed fallen. Yet, no one can claim that gun laws actually equal lower crime rates.

I say it's immoral to tell a citizen they are not allowed to protect themselves. As uncomfortable as it may be, the police are not magicians who float through the air or pop into existence the way Endora did on an episode of Bewitched. Calling the police takes time and waiting for them takes even more time and sometimes those precious minutes are not enough. A person must have the ability to protect themselves in these horrifying experiences. What is needed is education about firearms - how they work, how to use them, and when not to use them. Fear is always combated through knowledge.

Switzerland is a country where gun ownership is high and shootings are quite low. The reason is due to their education. They demand that citizens are educated in how to handle a gun.

Training should be mandatory. Our government will never realistically succeed in taking away guns from our citizens but it can succeed in implementing courses that keep our citizens aware of firearms and how to accurately use them. Rather than stirring the pot by talking about the evils of guns and blaming the victims, we need to get behind more rational ideas that can ultimately unite people on both sides of the aisle.

Guns -- My Response

Well, I have a friend who posted something on my Facebook wall tonight and it most certainly inspired me to respond. However, I must note that the response I posted here is a little "fixed up" in that I corrected some grammar and spelling. I will start by saying that my friend is fairly reasonable, not someone who is out to take everyone's guns but, I do believe a bit naive. He found an article that was written by someone else and the author is unknown but, it also appears to be fairly rational however you'll have to read it for yourself.

Let the Left Practice What They Preach

So the left wants to take our guns away so our children will be safe and magically free from harm. They laugh at the notion of having armed guards posted inside of schools. Does this mean that Obama's children will also no longer be protected by armed security guards? Interesting that I don't see this anywhere in the news. I guess what's good for our democrat leaders is not so good for the people they supposedly represent. Until these "leaders" start practicing what they preach, I would appreciate if they would just STFU already with their fake emotion and outrage.

Here's a list of some things the left needs to stand by:

No democrat shall be protected by the government. No guards, no more secret service, no security systems, and no protection for their families. They will have the option to call 911 if they find themselves in trouble.

No private healthcare for the left. They must submit to government care ONLY. They will have no right to appeal decisions made by the government concerning their care. If they are elderly or sickly, they will be required to submit themselves to euthanasia.

NO more rich liberals. All far-lefty libs need to give their excess money to the poor and spread their wealth around. All should immediately write checks to the government in the exact amount of their savings, pension, investments, and anything else that gives them wealth.

All libs need to encourage, if not outright demand that their children be homosexual. They themselves need to engage in homosexual sex as well. It is important for the lib to have first hand knowledge and understanding of what homosexuality is as well as raising homosexual children.

They must engage in limited free speech. Absolutely no jokes, no politically incorrect statements, and absolutely no phrases, speeches, or written materials that could be considered offensive to anyone. If they can't say anything nice, they must force themselves not to say it at all.

No war. No fighting. No violence. All of Hollywood must remove any and all traces of violent films. They shall not be allowed to make any more films that depict using guns or weapons of any kind. All actors who have appeared in any violent films are no longer allowed to receive any type of residual income profiting from these films. If it can be proven that their original profit from these films was used to purchase things like their house or car, they shall be immediately confiscated and given to the poor for housing and transportation. The dems must immediately pull our troops out of every military operation across the globe.

Far lefty's will also be required to give their homes up to the American Indians, after all we did take their land so it should be immediately given back and they must have a smile on their face while doing so.

All females who are liberal must be on birth control and if they happen to conceive they must submit themselves to having an abortion. According to them this is just a small procedure that has no enduring effects. They will have no need for children anyway since they will no longer have homes to house their children.

Liberals who do find homes to live in because they are American Indians, minorities, or some other class of "victim" will be required to live next door to convicted pedophiles and/or other types of rehabilitating felons.

It's time for the left to practice what they preach, no?

Boehner, Biden, and Being Banned

Boehner was reelected as Speaker of the House.

“If you have come here to see your name in lights or to pass off political victory as accomplishment, you have come to the wrong place. The door is right behind you,” Mr. Boehner said after winning the speaker’s gavel for the second time. “If you have come here humbled by the opportunity to serve, if you have come here to be the determined voice of the people, if you have come here to carry the standard of leadership demanded not just by our constituents but by the times, then you have come to the right place.”

Not everyone is happy with this decision, especially many conservatives.

In the world of absurd:

BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KMOX) – Belleville police chief Bill Clay is ordering his officers to get their pancakes from anywhere but Denny’s, calling the restaurant “political stupidness.”

Apparently, some undercover officers were seen with guns that made a patron feel "uncomfortable" and were asked to leave the guns in their vehicles or leave. When the group got up to leave, the general manager, Michael Van attempted to correct this decision but the officers felt it best to just leave at that point.

Denny’s corporate office has released an apology saying, “Denny’s policy permits law enforcement officials to carry their firearms in the restaurant and we regret any misunderstanding.”

Hopefully this statement from the corporate office will help mend this issue but we will have to wait and see. It seems very odd that anyone would have such a problem with this considering the weapons were obviously exposed for others to see, unlike anyone else who could come in with a weapon hidden. As we all know, gun free zones are the most likely place someone will get shot at.

The Land of Hypocrisy -- Hollywood

It amazes me that people in Hollywood always seem to be on top of certain issues that are by their very definition, anti-American. They seem to support many policies that run contrary to what they represent. They lash out at the very wealthy for not paying their "fair share" in taxes, yet they themselves have ever-growing bank accounts, VIP privileges, and no one, and I mean NO ONE is stopping them from sending in more money to the government. In fact, some of them have even been busted for avoiding taxes. They jump on environmental causes while they themselves jet around the world. Like any good liberal they also love to use children, women, and minorities in order to show how truly wonderful they are. For them just feeling a certain way is what makes them better, more open-minded, and enlightened.

The story of Moore's body guard being caught at JKF Airport with a hand gun has resurfaced, primarily due to Moore's recent attacks on guns (AGAIN) pertaining to the tragedy that occurred in CT.

Currently Moore is on his Twitter peddling his Bowling for Columbine -- that piece of filthy propaganda he likes to call a documentary. Just the fact that this man still has followers is full proof how little people do their own research and learn the truth about so many things concerning guns, healthcare, capitalism, and war. The man is an outright LIAR and has been repeatedly exposed, even by people who initially liked him.

Moore is not alone in his hypocrisy. It seems what is good for Hollywood is not good for the rest of us. They believe only their lives are valuable enough to be at risk and require protection. The rest of us should just surrender ourselves to home intruders and others who are willing to cause us harm. Most all of Hollywood and all government officials are protected by guards who are ARMED with GUNS. The fact they want to preach to everyone else about having guns is appalling to me and should be appalling to everyone. The one issue that we ALL should agree on is having the natural right to protect ourselves and our families. For anyone to advocate otherwise and then have their own lives and families protected by guns is obviously a sign of someone suffering from some severe mental issues.

Tell ya what...I'll give up my gun when the president and all the other anti-gun lawmakers give up their armed guards. That includes all the dim-witted Hollywood celebs and their gun toting body guards. Sounds fair enough to me. Let's see how quick they are to give up THEIR protection.

My favorite part is where he says that many of the people that have guns, live in areas where there's not much crime. Yeah, Michael, that's how it works BONE HEAD. People typically don't rob places where they know the owner of the home has a gun. The idea of robbing is to get away ALIVE with the loot.

Then he carries on about other BS statistics. I don't know where he's getting these numbers from.

Ex-Marines Arrested For Selling Guns to Gang Memebers

Adam Gitschlag is an ex-Marine, who is being accused of being the head of some ring that was selling assault riffles to gang members.

Federal agents have arrested three retired Marines suspected of selling illegal assault weapons to a notorious Los Angeles street gang, authorities said Tuesday.


The suspected ringleader, Adam Gitschlag, who served in Iraq and was once based at Camp Pendleton, was arrested at his Orange County home Nov. 2 as part of an operation carried out by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, as well as military investigators and local police.

The arrests were announced a week after a Navy SEAL in San Diego and two others were charged with smuggling machine guns from Iraq for sale on the black market.

Reached on his cell phone, Gitschlag said the charges are "definitely untrue," and that he is a private weapons collector and patriot who has worked hard to serve his country.

"I did not sell any gang memebers any weapons," he said. "I love my country with all my heart. I would never expect my government to do this."

I'm not sure what to believe here. I guess we'll have to wait and see how this one turns out. I've known a few Marines and, they are slightly crazy but, stupid? No. This seems like a stupid thing to do.

The ATF says the deal was carried out June 23 in the parking lot of a Pasadena post office. Gitschlag, along with another former Marine, met with a postal service supervisor, a Florencia 13 street gang member and other associates, and sold them the weapons for $6,000, the ATF said.

Unbeknown to Gitschlag, one of the men was working as an ATF informant.

In front of the F-13 gang member, the informant asked Gitschlag if he would be willing to sell more firearms to other gang members in the future. He agreed, according to a search warrant affidavit.

The gang member never took possession of the weapons, and the informant gave them to ATF agents after the sale.

Right to Bear Arms

The Supreme Court ruled on a 5-4 decision that the Second Amendment provides for a fundamental right to own guns and, that state and local laws cannot violate that.

5-4 decision? Are you kidding me? If this Kagen was on the Supreme Court now, do you realize the vote would be the other way around? How is it that anyone could make the decision that we do not have the fundamental right to bear arms?! Have we fallen this far in America?

I am shocked and appalled the decision was not unanimous.

You Shouldn't Own a Gun

Yes, you read that right. You are going to hurt yourself or people around you, so you shouldn't own a gun. Especially if you live in a "good neighborhood." You have no business owning a gun.

This is pretty much the gist of what a friend of mine has told me this evening. I'm not kidding. Now, I love my friend and the last thing in the world I want to do is start a fight but, I was pretty shocked by what she was saying.

She, of course, spouted all the liberal lies about guns and, how dangerous they are and so many accidents happen when people have guns. Some others had popped in with support about how many suicides could just be avoided if no one owned a gun. It was laughable, to say the least. It always amazes me how naive some folks are. As if guns are the cause of suicide.

I had to respond. I tried to explain that the "bad guys" always have guns, that I have been a victim of a gun crime, that having a gun for self defense is one of the only ways to assure protection of yourself, that guns are the first thing leaders like Hitler, Stalin, and Mao took away from people, ect.

She responded that it's okay for cops to have guns.

So, I just left it at that. How do you even answer someone that is clearly NOT seeing the major problem with a government having guns but, the people cannot? She also hates the war, and Bush of course. This is pretty much typical banter from people who just can't quite seem to grasp the idea that there is a wisdom behind people being allowed to protect themselves.

Unfortunately, she is not understanding that cops cannot be there every second of the day. They are not body guarding each citizen. When you have someone who is breaking into your home, by the time the cops get there, you and your family could be dead! A cop isn't going to save you or your family.

Also, I found it odd that when someone challenged her, she determined that they live in " a good neighborhood" and don't need a gun. She evidently doesn't understand that crime can happen and, does happen, in almost any area you may live in. Then, she also included that only people in authority understand how to use a gun and everyone else must not know the safety involved in owning a gun.

The lies that are told to people can really have people believing the most illogical things. Most the folks, like my friend, are wonderful, nice, well-intentioned people, but, they simply don't have the correct facts in order to form a correct opinion.

Guns, Guns, And More Guns

So, now everyone is talking about guns and guns being taken away but, the real problem people seem to be having is not being able to buy ammunition. I've heard this from several people. I don't know how wide spread this is.

Apparently, Obama will let us keep our guns, he just doesn't want anyone to have any ammo.

Totally unconfirmed internet gossip. I'm just doing my part to spread it around.

However, it wouldn't surprise me if he did want to do something like that, being the commie that we all know Obama is. It might be safe for everyone to play on the safe side and prepare.

I really don't have any tolerance for people that are against the 2nd amendment. It's just complete stupidity and ignorance that causes these opinions to form. I can't take reading the crap these liberals say. The statements they make are just void of logic, void of reason, and empty words.

Just what the hell kind of a moron do you have to be to think that getting rid of guns or ammo is going to keep us safe? Yeah all the bad people will have guns and ammo and all the good people will be screwed...or, dead.
