Quick Thoughts About Gamer Gate

Over the last few months I have been burying myself into the topic of modern-day feminism, which is commonly referred to as third-wave feminism. My next book will be an attempt to provide subtle advise for young women. As a woman myself and a mother, I want my daughter to grow up to be independent and have a healthy view of men. The current culture we see through the eyes of the mainstream media have me feeling a bit concerned about what types of messages we are sending to young women.

The story that acted as a catalyst for me to venture into this project was the story of Emma Sulkowicz, better known as the mattress girl. The young Columbia student who claimed she was raped in her dorm room eight months after the event occurred and resulted in her obtaining a degree after she chose to carry around the supposed crime scene (her mattress), for 2 years. She even carried this mattress across the stage when she accepted her degree. Little did I realize that this research would lead me to a movement called Gamer Gate. It even has it's own hashtag - #gamergate.

What is Gamer Gate?

The shortest possible answer is a movement dedicated to demanding ethics in gaming journalism.

Ethics in journalism? As a fellow conservative, you may be asking "WHAT? Does that even exist? Is that possible?" as it pertains to mainstream media.

Well, let me back up a bit. Here's the story, (the best I can make out)...a young woman named Zoe Quinn who apparently developed some silly game called "Depression Quest" received accolades and attention over her contribution to the gaming world and ended up being caught by her now ex-boyfriend cheating on him - with several other people. Those people were a part of the gamer media and apparently they had been the moving forces behind the scenes that helped her game to become noticed. Some people argue this point but, this situation was interpreted as Zoe sleeping her way to the top.

The game sucks. You can play a free version on-line but I warn you, it's mostly just reading and then you choose your own adventure based on the options given. Apparently many people became suspicious of how the game was able to garner so much attention but, it did have all the typical elements of what liberals love - awareness of [insert politically correct topic here], depression in this case, and it was developed by a young women. So the discovery of Quinn's special connections to the movers and shakers of the gaming community became a topic of discussion and gamers decided to demand the media reviewing games should be more objective in their analysis and recommendation of games.

Okay but what does this have to do with feminism? Well, I'm glad you ask because the second part of this Gamer Gate concerns feminists attacking the gaming culture and games in general - especially those violent and sexist games. Little did I know that many of these games have sexy women in them. In some games you can even have sex and objectify these women or worse kill them.

Enter Anita Sarkeesian. I don't know much about her personal history or how in the world she became relevant but she's a self-described feminist and she is to feminism what Al Sharpton is to racism. She runs some website and started doing videos attacking gamers and the industry declaring everyone to be misogynists. She also talks about the various effects of being exposed to violence towards women in video games, claiming one can be affected even if they are not aware yet, Anita apparently has a special power that allows her to view these games and they somehow do not affect her.

Oh and just like Sharpton she needs money. She has apparently raised a large sum of money with the promise of producing a series of videos that will be used to educate the masses about the horrors of the video gaming world. So far, she's produced one video - that I know of but, don't quote me because I could be wrong so, feel free to correct me if I am.

Sarkeesian also enjoys playing the victim-card. She and a few others like her have claimed that members of #GamerGate have made bomb threats and other various threats of violence towards her. However, many skeptics find these claims to not be credible.

Let me just say...

I'm not a gamer. I do like some games and back in the day I was damn good at Tetris but, I hardly believes this qualifies me as a "gamer." I am also still a novice as it pertains to this overall subject and I'm still trying to make sense of it all so, please forgive me if I missed something or got something a bit wrong.

The overall movement on Twitter and on YouTube is gamers feeling attacked by the media and by feminists. They are being lied about and attacked from various angles. Generally they enjoy their games and merely want to be left alone. Yes, it does seem as though many of these popular games are geared toward men but, that's hardly a reason to believe that women cannot participate. Nothing is stopping them from developing their own games but, like any true liberal, it's much better to shout at and tear down what others have built rather than build yourself.

Some things never change:

Drunk or not, Kerouac's point is as valid today as it was back then. It has long been the left's tactic to shout down and tear down others, while the right's main message has always been to do for yourself in order to help others.

Here's what I don't understand...

There are a number of YouTube commentators for GamerGate and I've subscribed to a number of them. I'm definitely a new fan of them and very much enjoy most everything they have to say. I also note that many of them are atheists which doesn't bother me. I have yet to let go of Jesus myself but, I can understand their points and concerns over religion. What I can't get over is how they will continually make the most conservative points -  they make the case that modern day conservatives make daily and then claim to be left leaning liberals.

WHAT?!

I have even heard some claim they agree with mainstream media but, it's just the "gaming media" they see problems with.

WHAT?!

They see how the media has treated them; they understand their ideas and points have been twisted and quote-mined; they know they have been lied about yet, they seem to have some cognitive dissonance when they try to separate gaming journalism with the general media. How do they not realize this is exactly what conservatives deal with on a daily basis?

Classic liberalism IS modern-day conservatism. Sure we have some crazy folks on the right but, that's the point! We DO tolerate people and we are not all the same, which can be a strength but it's also one of our weaknesses.
Ludwig von Mises  wrote in prescience,
“In the United States “liberal” means today a set of ideas and political postulates that in every regard are the opposite of all that liberalism meant to the preceding generations. The American self-styled liberal aims at government omnipotence, is a resolute foe of free enterprise, and advocates all-round planning by the authorities, i.e., socialism.”Liberalism (1929)
As the Socialist Party candidate for president, Norman Thomas said in a 1944 speech:

“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism,’ they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” He went on to say: “I no longer need to run as a presidential candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democratic Party has adopted our platform.”
So I guess for myself, I'm a bit confused because I'm just not sure if any of them are truly aware of this? Do they understand conservatives or do they understand conservatives from the perspective of a liberal viewpoint? For example, if someone were to only read about Gamer Gate from feminists, they would have a distorted view of the movement. Could this be what is going on? Is their view of conservatives distorted?

Now, of course I don't know for sure. Maybe they are indeed well aware and will never be conservative. Maybe they are just more libertarian. I do know many of them are younger than me so, it's very possible they are like so many of us conservatives when we were young and believed in the left's idea of liberalism. I'm not completely sure but, even if they do still identify more with the left, it's a good feeling to know they still side with general freedom and it's always nice to find points for which we can all agree on.

Robert Downey Jr.Walks OUT on Rude Interviewer

Let me just first say that I have always, always LOVED Robert Downey Jr. Ever since I was a young kid I have adored him because he has always been so incredibly talented. Even in his dark days, I really liked this guy. I always had hope for him and to watch him climb from the gutters of addiction and become the star he is today is just incredible and makes an American proud.

This interview that was done by some dullard from the UK starts off with asking questions about the new movie coming out for Iron Man.

Finally the guy decides to badger Downey about a quote that was from Downey several years ago. Here is some history...

Downey did an interview after he got himself cleaned up and he made a quote that became rather controversial in Hollywood but was celebrated among the conservatives in America. This was from The New York Times in 2008:

“I have a really interesting political point of view, and it’s not always something I say too loud at dinner tables here. But you can’t go from a $2,000-a-night suite at La Mirage to a penitentiary and really understand it and come out a liberal. You can’t. I wouldn’t wish that experience on anyone else, but it was very, very, very educational for me and has informed my proclivities and politics every since.”

I have always believed that Downey was not necessarily speaking about being a Republican but rather that he changed in such a way that showed him the importance of taking personal responsibility for his life. Rather than externalizing blame, one needs to find strength inside of themselves.

If you have ever known people who have battled with drug abuse or alcohol abuse, it is clear that many of them carry along a victim type mentality. Now couple all this with Downey's fairly privileged background being born into Hollywood royalty, it's easy to see how a person can become full of themselves. Indulging in drugs and leading a careless life eventually led him to reach a bottom that many in Hollywood never see. That type of change clearly led him to becoming more humble and in turn generally more conservative. It goes along with the same old adage, "If you're in your 20's and you're not a liberal, you have no heart but if you're in your 30's and you're not a conservative you have no brain."

It's about growing up and it's about maturing. Some people put labels on it but, sometimes these labels change and sometimes the labels are accurate. I believe Downey was there to do an interview and not discuss politics. He's an actor and ultimately he's representing the studio. He's not there to isolate audience members talking about politics or philosophy. The questioning as it pertains to this type of interview was uncalled for and confrontational.

I'm very glad to see Downey walk out. It doesn't matter what he believed then or now. This type of questioning did not belong in this interview.

Jon Stewart and Charles Krauthammer

I was browsing YouTube and came across this video. I'm glad I did. As always, Krauthammer is brilliant. In this debate/discussion/interview with Jon Stewart he does a brilliant job at explaining the Obama heath care law and why so many conservatives oppose it.

Jon is also brilliant and I appreciate how he expresses himself and his ideas as well. I don't often agree with Stewart but I do think he's hilarious and he really does seem to think about what he believes, rather than just spouting off the typical liberal rhetoric that we are so used to hearing. Both of them really make an effort to be respectful of one another and demonstrate how most of us would like our politicians to discuss issues.

Enjoy!

The Land of Hypocrisy -- Hollywood

It amazes me that people in Hollywood always seem to be on top of certain issues that are by their very definition, anti-American. They seem to support many policies that run contrary to what they represent. They lash out at the very wealthy for not paying their "fair share" in taxes, yet they themselves have ever-growing bank accounts, VIP privileges, and no one, and I mean NO ONE is stopping them from sending in more money to the government. In fact, some of them have even been busted for avoiding taxes. They jump on environmental causes while they themselves jet around the world. Like any good liberal they also love to use children, women, and minorities in order to show how truly wonderful they are. For them just feeling a certain way is what makes them better, more open-minded, and enlightened.

Liberals and Their Polls

I accidentally ran into a political website that leans left. This is a poll that the site had:

Who do Republicans Represent? (Check all that apply.)
Selection
Millionaires 44 votes
Billionaires 48 votes
Corporate Criminals 46 votes
Racists 41 votes
Bigots 41 votes
Islamophobes 43 votes
Homophobes 44 votes
Pseudo-Christians 41 votes
Birthers 42 votes
Secessionists 35 votes
Women Haters 40 votes
Rich Foreigners 32 votes
Wall Street 47 votes
Main Street 9 votes
You 1 vote
Other 11 votes
52 voters
Please tell me the left is not really this ignorant. Never mind. I know they are and this is so disturbing. How does the democrat party do this year after year? They totally brain wash people and exploit them! I really hope people start waking up. Can you honestly not look at the options on this poll and not admit what crazy biased opinions liberals have towards conservatives?

The sad part is, all these groups are specifically targeted and exploited by liberals on a daily basis and that inner hatred they carry is projected onto conservatives.

Rev. Jesse Jackson Calls For Revolt and Recall in WI

I still don't understand how this man became a leader of any kind. He can't speak well and he has trouble comprehending questions asked of him.

Thank you, Megyn. Once again you have shown the hypocrisy and foolishness of the left.

The Tea Party Cleaned Up Madison After Protests?

I am late to this story but, I thought it was worth mentioning. It's the Tea Party that organized on Sunday, on Facebook, to clean up the mess left by the union protesters in Madison, WI.

The union left a mess, you must me asking yourself???? Why would good, environmentally sound liberals not clean up their mess? Say it isn't so!

It’s not about partisanship or protests, but pride.
It is time to take out the trash… literally. In true Flash Mob fashion, on Sunday at exactly 1300 hours (1:00 pm for you non-military types) we will do an extensive police call (pick up the trash) around the capitol square. Regardless of the state the grounds are in, we will do this as both a literal and symbolic way to show our respect for our home.
TEA Partiers know how this is done. It is time to show OUR pride for OUR state OUR way and be the example.
Even if you cannot attend, please share this and invite all of your sane friends who share our love of Wisconsin.
No signs, no screaming, just a necessary cleaning.

Obama's Message

You cannot have a tragedy without the left politicizing the event and who better to demonstrate this then the leader of all liberal lemmings, Obama. Obama went to Arizona, one of the "58 states" in his union, to deliver his "great" message to the American people.

Click title of post for article.

The article is all about how Obama was giving a message of doing things better. He says it's not discourse that caused this. So why even mention it? Why not just say nice things about the folks that lost their lives and condemn the idiot that did this? I do not understand why this man feels the need to provide such worthless commentary. He talks out of both sides of his mouth.

First he says:

"I believe we can be better," Obama said to a capacity crowd in the university's basketball arena and to countless others watching around the country.

"Those who died here, those who saved lives here — they help me believe," the president said. "We may not be able to stop all evil in the world, but I know that how we treat one another is entirely up to us."

Then, he says:

Obama settled on a theme of challenging the country to have a debate that is worthy of those who died. He tapped into the raging debate about the role of incendiary rhetoric without dwelling on it. "Let's remember that it is not because a simple lack of civility caused this tragedy. It did not," the president said.
So, what's he saying here? That debate didn't cause this but, that we need to debate better? I'm lost.
The president said it was OK, even essential, for the country to suddenly be debating gun control, mental health services and the motivations of the killer.

But then he added: "At a time when our discourse has become so sharply polarized — at a time when we are far too eager to lay the blame for all that ails the world at the feet of those who think differently than we do — it's important for us to pause for a moment and make sure that we are talking with each other in a way that heals, not a way that wounds," the president said.
If the discourse didn't cause it, why are you talking about it? No, it's NOT okay to talk about gun control. It's NOT okay to talk about anything that doesn't pertain to this matter. Let's focus on the victims and their lives.

This whole thing was caused by a nut job! You can't "make sense " of what a nut job does. Period. There's no logic in something like this. It has nothing to do with discourse. It has nothing to do with rhetoric. For years and years the media has put out stories, hyperbole, arguments, debate, anger, happiness, sadness, etc. you name it, and millions upon millions of people listen to all of it and, do NOT go around shooting anyone over it.

Give me a break! Why do liberals do this crap? Oh, that's right, they have a mental disorder. Look at me, I'm trying to make sense of what they are doing. Silly conservative, sickness is for liberals.

Exposing the Self-Hating Liberal

I always make a point of reading "the other side" for various reasons. I want to know what the other side of the argument is, and I'm usually quite amused at the very intolerable, ignorant things that come out of their fingers, through their keyboard, and onto my screen.

I've seen comments like the one below before but, this one actually inspired me to write this particular blog:
The reason why the Republicans continue to fight for these tax cuts is that they believe that those who make more money expend more effort ("work harder") and therefor "succeed" in society as a result of all their hard efforts. Of course, this is ludicrous. Those who "succeed" often are privileged to begin with, for one thing, and also often lie, cheat and steal to "get ahead." Republicans believe in ruthlessness as an essential part of human nature, which, makes them, really, not just unfit to rule, but makes them clinically insane.
Why do liberals think this way? We have to get into the mind of a liberal. First of all, many of the richest people in this country are liberal so, it's clear there is a lot of projecting going on.

Psychology always seems to rear it's head in all sciences and, politics is no different. People often project their inner beliefs, thoughts, and persona's upon others with their world views.  If someone is always lying, cheating, and stealing to get ahead, of course they are going to think that others around them constantly engage in that behavior as well. Clearly the writer of this post is someone who is projecting his own behavior upon others.

Liberals are notorious for blaming others for their problems. This is because they ironically believe it's failing, if they have to admit they did something wrong, or brought something bad upon themselves. They don't  want to accept that they create their own world's. They want to believe that everything is just a mistake, that it's all accidental, that some folks are just more lucky than others, that there is no real way of working to get ahead, nope, people are where they are because of who they are, not what they can become.

When you have this outlook, how can you possibly love yourself or, love life? You really can't. The bottom line is, liberals are self hating. They have an enormous amount of envy for others. They can't stand anyone having what they don't have. They truly hate themselves. If they are privileged, the still hate themselves because, they carry a guilt around with them. They think, they are lucky and it's so sad that others aren't lucky like them. So, naturally a self imposed guilt is placed upon their shoulders.

Does anyone question why these people do not really understand G-d? Many of them do not even believe He exists. How can you blame them? G-d is love, after all and, they don't even love themselves.

They have no sense of identity. They don't like to be American because, of what American values represent. They tear down anything that would prop themselves up for the sake of tolerance but, they also despise anyone that doesn't think the way they do. If there is a different opinion given, it's because that person, newspaper, news organization, is obviously funded  by a larger group of evil conservatives - a big vast conspiracy. True paranoia. It's similar to the boogie man. Yes, they are still children that believe in the boogie man, he's just a conservative now, not a shadow under the bed.

With taxes, for example, it's always about the "zero-sum" argument. The argument that suggests if one group is effected in a positive way, the other groups will  fail or, receive zero. The fact that all of us are connected in some way, makes this argument completely null and void. In fact, it's one of the most ridiculous arguments I've ever heard, as it's mathematically impossible. It's possible a different group will not be much affected but, to say that it's always negative or zero is complete ignorance.

For example, if the rich receive tax cuts, the amount they don't have to pay, is the amount the poor will lose. Well, on the surface, it may seem this way, beings the government likes to redistribute money taken from taxes and spending it on programs that mostly do benefit the poor. However, this is not true at all. In fact, cutting taxes has shown that revenues to the government actually increase. This puts more money into the economy and, by doing so, it helps everyone, not just the rich. The problem is, once the government is seeing all the new money come in, they like to spend even more, increasing debt.

Of course, cutting taxes doesn't always work, if the taxes are low already but, by experimenting with the taxes, you can determine the tax percentage, in a free economy, that will provide maximum output, along with maximum intake. If the taxes are at 0% or 100%, you will not see any revenue because, zero is obviously nothing and at 100%, people just won't bother going to work. They will avoid any taxes and, bring no revenue in. A thinking person can deduce that even though taxes may be a necessity, you can't raise them so high that there is no motivation for that person to work nor, can they be too low that they don't bring anything in.

This blog isn't about taxes though but, it is about how liberals will see facts and regardless of what common sense will tell them, they can't stand when someone, even themselves, has a lot of money. They simply don't care what reality may dictate. They want that person taxed, even if it's to their own detriment. If they see something as unfair, they need to be the ones that fix it. They do not believe things work themselves out. They believe in control. Again, irony appears when many of them cannot even control themselves.

Of course they hate themselves and they hate others. They are extremely selfish because of this. The only satisfaction they get in life is joining meaningless causes, that never truly help anyone, nor do they bother to actually donate to charities or, help people directly. No, it's much easier to sign a petition and, then lecture everyone else on the issue.

They absolutely despise the "moral majority" or the "religious right" but, that doesn't stop them from having an even bigger sanctimonious attitude. They will call anyone that doesn't agree with them a form of lower life. Looking down upon people is a huge sign of self-loathing.

It always frustrates me whenever I hear the left distort so many things about the right and what our views are but, when they actually do understand yet, say things like the post above, it just floors me how a person can be so negative. I also have to question just how many successful people this person actually knows. I have had the great fortune of knowing many successful people. Some have been privileged, nothing wrong with that but, most were, indeed, hard-working people who came from nothing.

Most anyone can be successful, evil or good. Oh, yes, there are evil people. No one is denying that but, the reason conservatives view successful people as generally good people is because, that is what is inside of us. We love to see success, we applaud it and want to encourage it for others. We don't want to tear people down. When we enter into business, it's not about ripping the competition apart, we know the market will make room for us, if we have a good product or service to offer.

The reason why the Republicans continue to fight for these tax cuts is that they believe that those who make more money expend more effort ("work harder") and therefor "succeed" in society as a result of all their hard efforts.
We believe these things because, we ARE these things. Here is what liberals are:

Of course, this is ludicrous. Those who "succeed" often are privileged to begin with, for one thing, and also often lie, cheat and steal to "get ahead." Republicans believe in ruthlessness as an essential part of human nature, which, makes them, really, not just unfit to rule, but makes them clinically insane.

We focus on what we can do, not what others or the government will do for us. We take responsibility for our actions because, we know we create our own world and we love life because of it. We love life because, it's a gift. We love ourselves, and we love others. There is almost no self loathing when one is a conservative and, boy oh boy do liberals hate that.

*Yes, I'm referring to the more far left person, more then I am the general person. I used to be a lefty myself so, I know a lot of what I speak of. It does take one to know one...I've been there personally.

Entertainment and Liberalism

I started performing on stage since the age of four. I've pretty much been on a stage most all my life. I started out dancing and found myself wanting to do other stage work. I did several things here and there; I'll just cover the highlights. I got a few small parts on stage in high school. I also played a lead in a small play our drama class had performed.

I have experience working backstage. My first job was spotlight for the musical, "Sweeney Todd" at the Omaha Community Playhouse. I did various things backstage for them until, I landed a role as the nun in, "Tony 'n Tina's Wedding" which was an improv comedy. I absolutely loved performing but, doing so deteriorated a part of me. I decided to go back to school and retire my work as a performer.

In college, I did discover that I have a talent speaking in front of people. Debate in college was completed with an A plus. I also didn't have too hard of a time speaking up in any of my classes, expressing my opinion, even if I was the only one in the classroom that held that point of view. By the time I went back to school, I was older than most the other students and, quite more experienced in life. I was not shy about asserting this.

I think my years on stage were the best and worst times of my life. I met some amazing people but, I had turned quite liberal in those years and, it wasn't till I was able to get away from the stage that I was able to see things in a completely different light. I was really self absorbed. I did whatever I wanted to do and, as long as I was "tolerant" of everyone else, I felt justified in anything I said and did. All you really need to do is qualify all your statements with, "I don't judge anyone..."

Yes, I partied a lot. I suppose you could say I was near a local-type-Lindsey Lohan or, a wanna-be Paris Hilton. (Oh, wow...this is embarrassing!) I can't believe I'm admitting to this but, I feel it necessary in order to make my point. I actually like Britney and Paris. I understand them on a weird and bizarre level. I look back at my life and know that had I had that type of fame, I would probably have acted just like they have, maybe worse. Here I was, at a local level, in Omaha, NE of all places, and I thought I was G-d's gift to the world.

I would get recognized, I knew people, I could go anywhere and skip standing in lines. This went right to my head, not even realizing for a moment how truly pathetic I was. I allowed myself to get caught up in everything. Here's what happens: You live and breathe the theatre. When you entertain, you are performing constantly. We had shows on Tues, Wed, Thur, Fri, Sat, and two shows on Sunday. Some shows were dark on Mon, Tues, and Wed but, even those days, you were with other cast members, people that did the same things as you. It was rare that I would be around anyone that had a different point of view on life. Or, if I was, I didn't pay any attention. It was all about ME.

All this coupled with being young, which is a selfish period to begin with, became a dark time in my life. Of course, I didn't realize that while I was living it. No, I was right about everything. I will tell you, I had told myself that I was so great and, so amazing that G-d must have blessed with with "special knowledge," that I truly knew what was best for everyone and, if they didn't agree, it was because, they were pathetic and led worthless lives.

Now, of course, you can only imagine how utterly humiliating this is for me to reveal to you but, this is exactly what goes on in the mind of Hollywood elites, only MUCH worse I'm sure. Again, keep in mind, I was NOWHERE near the level of fame and fortune that people in Hollywood have and yet, here I was experiencing delusions of grandeur. Oh, how I thank the Lord I never went much further.

Now this doesn't mean that you cannot be in Hollywood or, be an entertainer and not have a good head on your shoulders. Quite the contrary. There are many people that do just fine working on stage or, on the screen and are not crazy liberal or, even if they are liberal, they don't completely lose control over their lives the way I did. I was just weak, very weak and, I allowed myself to be intoxicated by many things but, mostly the ambiance of it all. The treatment I received from people made me feel as though I was much more important than I truly was.

Now for me, when I see people in Hollywood, they irritate the crap out of me but for some, I just have a soft spot for. I know they are not evil people. Some of the most wonderful people I know to this day, are those I met in the theatre. I've always felt safe around these people. I never felt like they would mistreat me or, allow bad things to happen to me. I come from a background where I've had the displeasure of meeting some pretty shady characters. People in entertainment never made me feel uncomfortable or uneasy to be around. We had great fun and I always felt happy around them.

For me, I guess it's not that these people are evil, it's just they are simply absorbed in entertainment. They block themselves out from thinking about things in different ways because they are famous, everyone kisses their butts, they are never around anything else, they feel important, and much more important than others. If one thinks they are more important, they naturally will feel as though they are superior, and if they are superior, their opinions must also be superior; they feel and know that they know better than others.

Take for instance Tom Cruise. This man seems like a great guy. He's got it together for the most part. He's not been in too many scandalous stories, meaning he's not known for his partying ways, or his rampant drug use. He has a remarkable career and an impressive resume. However, there is NO doubt that this man thinks he's better than everyone. He literally goes on tv and says things like (paraphrasing), "You don't know the history of psychology like I do..." Clearly the way that is stated is, he knows things others do not and, and he truly believes that unless you're an elite like him, you cannot understand. In his mind, he is helping you and enlightening you, and if you don't understand, that's okay, just do what he does and you're life will be better because of him.

This is the first problem with the mindset of a Hollywood actor. They truly, honestly believe, with all their hearts that they have a "secret knowledge" that other "simple minded" people just do not have.

They believe with every fiber of their being that they experience emotions so much more than others. You will see this whenever you are viewing a benefit of some kind on tv. You will hear actors or singers express how much they believe in a cause, and "how important it is for people to come together" and, fill-in-the-blank. It's important because, they "feel" it's important and their feelings are more important because, they are superior to you.

You see, they are more important because, they are blessed with fame. If they weren't special, they wouldn't be famous. Now, of course, they always tell people to work hard if you want to be famous like them but, what they really mean is, only a select few, the lucky, the more important people, really achieve fame and fortune.

I think a lot of people in Hollywood turn to drugs because of the perplexity that is involved in their lives. On one hand, they are loved but, on the other hand, they have absolutely no privacy and some people actually hate them. People do not respect them as a person.

I remember when I did the improv show, the audience was really also a part of the show. You wouldn't believe the amount of people that felt as if it was their right to fondle me or, other cast members. Some were just down right nasty with us. In their eyes, we were entertainment they had rented for the evening and, we were just their puppets to play with. It was frightening in some ways. I had a few altercations in the parking lot with patrons because of how they had treated me or my friends.

I guess this is why we frequently see Hollywood actors go crazy on the paparazzi. The downside of being an entertainer is even though you are loved and adored by some, the folks that hate you or, disrespect you are just mean, really mean. Some very hurtful things are said and not behind your back but, right there to your face. It's hard to deal with that. For me, I was extremely sensitive. I still am. It's hard for me to deal with criticism. I happen to be my biggest critic but, when someone else does it, even if it's respectful, it still stings just a little. As I've gotten older, it's gotten much easier but, when I was younger, it was quite an overwhelming feeling of sadness.

Of course, when I felt sad, everyone needed to stop and pay attention because, remember, I was so important and my feelings were so important. Yes, I was quite good at being a little drama queen.

Being in entertainment is all about accepting other people. Let's face it, lots of gays are attracted to being in the entertainment world. Not just gays but, misfits as well. I think we were all odd or unusual in some sort of way. This bonded us yet, ironically we still felt more enlightened than the rest of the general population.

Fitting in with this crowd was more about "acting out."The more wild I was, the more willing I was to do crazy things, the more accepted I was. Doing things outside the norm was considered almost a virtue.

On the other hand, there were others that were much more responsible and understood that entertaining is a business and, if you were too much of a pain, you were not someone they would take a chance on. They knew it wouldn't be wise to rely on you to do their show.

Bottom line, yes, the entertainment industry is filled with liberals but, if you really want to make money and be a professional, you have to be a capitalist!

The only reason why I bothered writing this is because, a lot of people ask me my opinion of why actors and entertainers are liberal. Most these people have never even been on stage and are frightened to even speak in front of anyone.

I just wanted to explain a little bit as to what my opinion is on this issue. My experience is not at all everyone's experience. Again, lots of people know how to keep their head on their shoulders and are very good at being in the business of entertainment. I just happen to understand the messes of Hollywood.

When I got away from the entertainment industry, I started reading a lot. I listened to the news and, had always been quite interested in politics. I also started listening to talk radio. I began studying math and chemistry. I finally saw an underlying logic to things that I hadn't had the privilege of  seeing before. I also became Christian later on.

Even though I was liberal before, I had NO idea how unbelievably selfish I was. It was quite the opposite. I thought I was being a good person by accepting every action, good or bad. What I discovered was, that true love, and true tolerance is when you are able to recognize right and wrong and, not be afraid to point out when someone is doing something wrong. Hate the sin, love the sinner.

A lot of people will say, "I don't agree but, I don't judge if someone does..." x, y, or z. What they are really saying is, they only care about their actions and, they don't care enough to let someone know they are doing something that could potentially hurt themselves. They know the danger because, they would never do it themselves but, do not have the character to try and prevent others from doing something harmful, people they claim to care about. It's easier to say that nothing is black and white and it's all shades of gray. It's easier to avoid an argument or confrontation. It's easier so, therefore it must be right but, that couldn't be further from the truth.

I will give an example:

I know it's wrong to gossip about people. I think we can agree it's not an activity that one should participate in. I'm sure we've all done it from time to time, I admit, I have. For the purposes of this example, we'll pretend my 18 month old daughter is 14 years old. I hear her on the phone gossiping. I will most certainly sit down with her and let her know that what she is doing is wrong and, will eventually get her into trouble.

I would not say, "Well, gossiping isn't something I would do but, it's okay if you chose to do it." It's not okay. What is wrong is wrong and, yes, in the end, my daughter is going to make her own choices but, I'm going to make sure that I have already warned her in advance of the dangers of gossiping. It is much more loving to let someone know when they are doing something wrong then it is to pretend as if it doesn't matter one way or the other.

Sure, the EASIER way is to say it doesn't matter but, who is it easier for? Not the person making the mistake, it's the person that looks the other way and says nothing about the negative consequences that will happen if that wrong is committed.

As liberalism is defined today, at the root of it is a selfish core. You have to remember that many of these folks do not know this at all. They will tell you the exact opposite. They believe because they are superior, that you are just being closed minded and judgmental. What is sad is that, they are actually projecting onto you exactly what is at their core. This is why liberalism is a mental disorder...just like the great Dr. Savage says.

Again, I know there are people in the entertainment industry that are able to understand this. It's just when you have an entertainer that has become so self absorbed, it stands to reason that they are going to be liberals. Liberalism is an ideology rooted in elitism and pure selfishness.

The truly selfless in this culture are those that know that the government doesn't always have the right answers. They believe not only in G-d but, that people can help one another directly. They know that the true spirit of a man is harnessed when they achieve accomplishments on their own and, not through hand outs or affirmative action. They do not see victims but, potential. They do not see race but, humans. They are people that are not afraid to stand up and point out when something is wrong because, they don't care about the "easy way" for them, they care about you.

These are the people I see in the conservative movement and, this is why I am now a conservative. It's not about being better than anyone, it's just about love. G-d is love. Not just a superficial love but, a deep love of mankind. I'm not saying ALL conservatives are like this but, I have seen the greatest love of all come from folks who believe in the Lord and happen to be conservative as well.

Still Blaming Bush

I usually don't troll left wing sites but, after being offered some words of wisdom from a wise person I know, "know your enemy," I decided to take that advice and look a little closer as to what the left is saying about current events. I ran across an interesting website called, "open left." Click the title of this article for details.

This piece of writing/graphs I found, so intelligently titled, "Who dat own the debt? Bush dat own the debt!" written by Paul Rosenburg, is just an example of insanity the left displays.

Then, Paul says, "Putting Bush's record together with the latest projections for the future under Obama doesn't make things look exactly cheery, but it makes a mockery of attempts to blame Obama:"

Ummm...what? This doesn't even make any sense. Why is this guy talking in circles? Why is the "difference" line well below the actual? It's misleading. I understand what they did with the numbers but, they are misrepresenting things. The difference can already be seen between the projected (blue) and, the red (actual). The yellow line is simply there to make things look worse.

Not only that but, what is Rosenburg talking about, "Putting Bush's record together with the latest projections for the future under Obama doesn't make things look exactly cheery, but it makes a mockery of attempts to blame Obama:"??? This makes no sense at all.

When are the liberals going to realize that we are IN OBAMA'S economy? This is his time now. They didn't say that it was Clinton's fault for the recession he started when Bush took over, did they?

What a bunch of ninnies.
