Thoughts About Orlando

My mind is rushing through so many thoughts and has been for several days now. I'm not even sure where to begin but first, I will say that I offer my condolences to the victims who survived and their friends and family as well as the friends and family who are now missing a loved one due to this tragedy.

Here we are days later and we now know more of the facts that occurred and the person who was behind this massacre.

Omar Mateen, 29-year-old American-born was on an FBI watchlist for years before this event occurred. He was killed in a police shootout. Omar's ex-wife describes him as violent and disturbed. His father hosts a show based out of Los Angeles and it is said he has expressed appreciation for the Afgan Taliban.

Bill Maher on How Muslim Values and American Values are Different

Is Bill Maher finally finding his way back to the center? Back in the day when Bill was just a host on Politically Incorrect, his views started off fairly libertarian and later on he drifted to the left - far left in many cases. He found himself on HBO after his program was cancelled due to a "too politically incorrect" statement and while conservatives were the ones who disagreed with his statement, they were also the only ones pointing out the injustice of his firing.

Bill once again finds himself in an "unholy" alliance with conservatives who rightly recognize that Islam carries with it values that are not compatible with Western culture.

A certain trend is taking place in America now. The political landscape is changing and rather than liberals vs. conservatives, it seems we are being divided by authoritarian vs. libertarian. No matter what the mainstream liberals will tell us, most liberals in this country are in the center and they still very much value general freedoms. They want nothing to do with a culture that treats women as second-class or stones people for adultery and homosexuality. This is one area where we need to stand together.

Why are Americans concerned about refugees? Is it because we are a bunch of bigots? Well, speaking for myself - no. I would like to believe that most people are generally the same in understanding most people, including Muslims are generally good, non-violent, decent people. However, many Muslims support Sharia law, a set of laws that are in direct contrast to so many of our native laws that cherish the freedom of speech, religion, and civil rights.

Sharia law dictates the removal of hands for committing a crime of theft. It demands stoning for sins like adultery and for simply being a homosexual. My question for many liberals demanding we accept these people with open arms and hearts is simple - why are you so willing to accept people that strongly support laws that are outright hostile to current Western values?

I get it. You hate the right because we want things like family and G-d. We aren't keen on aborting babies because they are innocent. We like law and order. We enjoy living in a society that values justice and freedom. We also like clinging to our guns. These particular things you might not enjoy or appreciate. For many of you, it's more of a label game. You see the things we appreciate and value and infer things that are simply not true - calling us names like homophobes, Nazis, racists, etc. Maybe you interpret us too arbitrarily. We do have our extremists, no doubt but most of us are fairly reasonable, contrary to what the media tells you. Maybe you don't like Christianity. It is an old religion and many of you have expressed your disapproval of old ideas from the Bible. I might not agree but, I can understand. I can. I assure you being conservative doesn't mean you have an inability to view things through a different lens.

I still have to ask, if you hate the right and what we stand for, how on earth can you tolerate those who support Sharia law? Yes, I know some of you enjoy cherry-picking Bible versus in an attempt to either shame us or make us feel like hypocrites. However, setting the Bible aside because in the end arguing about it is indeed a futile experience, should we not take other circumstances into consideration?

I understand wanting to help people but how far should we go? The fact is, most of these particular people have ideas and values that are just not compatible with our Constitution. There may indeed be wonderful people who are willing to work and become contributing US citizens but there is also a strong likelihood that many of them have no interest in doing those things.

Yes, many are coming out and saying these attacks are not in their name. No, most Muslims do not practice extreme Islam, nor are they violent. Yes, there are documented cases of extreme Christians who have killed. All of these points are correct yet, no matter how much you may despise Christianity, there is nothing in their doctrine that demands women wear a burka. There is also nothing that demands people to stone homosexuals or those who commit adultery. I also see no laws in the Christian world that support the removal of hands as being a form of punishment for those who steal.

In Russia, 26% of Muslims said they support a person being stoned to death for adultery. Now you may say to me, "26% is not the majority." Yes, but it's still 1 in 4! Shouldn't it be 0 in 4? Stoning someone to death for anything is something we as Americans should not ever support. I don't know one American that supports a punishment like that - not one, liberal or conservative. It is simply NOT an American value. Can you really not see why so many of us are concerned about these refugees?

You are free to judge me however you please but, please don't lecture me or the right in this country about being tolerant when you, as supposed liberals, cannot muster up enough tolerance to tolerate your own fellow citizens. No, you'd rather pat yourselves on the back and give your support to people you don't even really know, people who really support nothing you value. At least the right in this country allow you disagree with them and even respect you. I cannot say the same for the people you are advocating to come here.

Bill Maher once again points out the intolerance of the religion of peace.

Rula Jebreal tries her best to go after Maher - accusing him of not being serious, that Bill is a bigot, suggesting that he does not discuss facts, telling Maher he doesn't allow people to come on his show, and she even accuses Maher of not knowing what he's talking about concerning the different groups/sects of Islam.

The Constitution and Bill of Rights are what give Americans freedom to do mostly what they would like to do, as long as a person does not infringe on the rights of others.

One White Terrorist Proves That There is No Islamic Terrorism

Since the attack in Norway occurred, the left has been hammering away about how Anders Behring Breivik is a right-wing extremist and a Christian fundamentalist. Of course, even he has said in his manifesto that he is not religious but, this does not stop the media from saying that Islam and terror are not connected. It is their estimation that anyone has an equal chance of becoming a terrorist that attacks innocent people. In fact, many liberals I know have gone so far as to say that there is no Islamic threat; it is all just something cooked up by the media and the right to scare people. I even found someone say that there is no al Qaeda and the only threat is inflicted by the US military bombing the Islamic world.

Of course, we are all entitled to our opinion but when an opinion is based upon lies and complete ignorance of the outside world, or a blatant denial of terror attacks that come from Islam, what then? Are these just different opinions? Opinions from people who live in an imaginary world? Or are these people just deliberately lying to push their agenda? I'm not exactly sure. I want to believe that most people mean well but, they are just selective in the information that they read or absorb.

Unless you are asleep at the wheel, there is no denying the increasingly violent Islamic culture. It is not just the US they are violent towards, it's every country imaginable. Just think of the years they have made war against India, Israel, and many countries in Europe. It goes against all logic when I see these far lefty folks say things about how there is no threat from Islam. What's worse is when ONE attack comes from something other than an Islamic fundamentalist, they seem to be almost happy and excited about hanging everything they believe on one event, as if that somehow disproves any and every argument the other side has been trying to warn about.

Tax Payer Money Going to Refurbish Mosques

Who in the world thought that this would be a good idea? Could you imagine if money went to refurbishing a Christian church in the United States?

Where is the ACLU or that Newdow guy that's always bitching about G-d? This is just mind blowing. The hypocrisy is true to liberal form. How does anyone defend this?

Congress had a hearing today to discuss terrorism. Of course, Republicans wanted to focus on REAL threats of terror that come from radical Islam but, the democrats wanted to talk about the threats from white people like the - KKK.

At one point, an exchange between Reps. Tom Marino and Al Green grew loud as they talked over each other. Green, a Texas Democrat who is black, said the terrorism hearing should have included discussion of the Ku Klux Klan. Marino, a Pennsylvania Republican who is white, said the subject of the day was terrorism, prompting the chairman to rap the gavel repeatedly as the two argued over whether the KKK was a terrorist organization.

Ummm...when was the last time there was a terrorist act committed by the f@cking KKK?! 

"We have to know our enemy, and it is radical Islam in my judgment," said Rep. Michael McCaul of Texas.

Yes. Thank you. Some words of wisdom.

Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn., the first Muslim elected to Congress, wept as he discussed Mohammed Salman Hamdani, a Pakistani-American paramedic who died responding to the World Trade Center attack.

"This committee's approach to this particular subject, I believe, is contrary to the best of American values and threatens our security, or could potentially," Ellison said.

Well, anything is better than doing NOTHING or, talking about threats that don't exist!

Melvin Bledsoe, whose son, Carlos, is charged with killing an Army private at a recruiting station in Little Rock, Ark., testified about his son's conversion to Islam and isolation from his family. Bledsoe said he didn't fully understand what was happening as his son became increasingly distant, stopped coming home for holidays and changed his name. He said the United State is not being aggressive enough about rooting radical elements from the Islamic community.

"We're talking about stepping on their toes, and they're talking about stamping us out," Bledsoe said. "Why don't people take their blinders off?"

 Again I say, "AMEN!" We aren't going to have anything to fight for if we allow them to take over.

After Bomb Plot Arrest Muslims Ask For Safety

Mohamed Osman Mohamud, was arrested in Corvallis, OR for plotting out a terror attack at Portland's Pioneer Courthouse Square, during a Christmas tree lighting ceremony.

His plot did not go through because authorities had been onto him the entire time. They were originally tipped off by someone who was extremely concerned about him and, authorities worked undercover to follow him and collect information. He was finally arrested on Friday, when the attack was to take place.

On Sunday a fire broke out at an Islamic Center, where Mohamud was said to worship from time to time. The Muslims are asking for more protection from authorities.

Apparently, the fire damaged their offices but not any part of the worship area. How convenient!

Question: Could it be that someone from the Islamic community did this to themselves so that they would benefit from having protection, keeping authorities near them? Only the office part was damaged, no one was injured? Yet, this was to be a retaliation? Sounds a little too convenient for me.

"He should be burned to death"

Those are the words that were given from Abdul-Latif Dahoud, a 35-year-old Qalqiliya resident, who was responding to the recent arrest of Walid Husayin, who was leading a double life --working for his father in his barber shop as a quite person who prayed with his family and, a man blogging anti-religious statements on the internet.

Over several years, Husayin is suspected of posting arguments in favor of atheism on English and Arabic blogs, where he described the God of Islam as having the attributes of a "primitive Bedouin." He called Islam a "blind faith that grows and takes over people's minds where there is irrationality and ignorance."

The article goes on to describe this man and his behavior. Apparently, he opened up some Facebook accounts and some groups that were blasphemous towards the prophet Mohamed.

His mother had discovered some articles on his computer that were about atheism and, cut off the internet connection. This move prompted him to take his rantings over to an internet cafe, where suspicion was aroused when he was witnessed spending up to 7 hours in a booth.

The article tries to paint this man as a total loon but, in America, these people are totally normal and put on tv, and given their own news shows--- see Keith Olbermann, Bill Maher, Rachael Maddow.

Then, this explosive statement:

The Western-backed Palestinian Authority is among the more religiously liberal Arab governments in the region. It is dominated by secular elites and has frequently cracked down on hardline Muslims and activists connected to its conservative Islamic rival, Hamas. 

Husayin's high public profile and prickly style, however, left authorities no choice but to take action.

They had NO choice but to take action? Did I just read that correctly? Are they admitting that liberals are intolerant? It sure sounds like it to me. Oh, this is just too much for me to even handle dissecting. I really don't even know where to begin...

First they are going to say that the Palestinian Authority is more liberal than other Arab governments? What planet is the author of this article from? Really? Really?!?! They refer to them as liberals but, to Hamas as conservatives? Then, have to audacity to say that they just had no choice to go after this man.

Wow.

So, then at the very end it says:

Zainab Rashid, a liberal Palestinian commentator, wrote in an online opinion piece that Husayin has made an important point: "that criticizing religious texts for their (intellectual) weakness can only be combatted by ... oppression, prison and execution."

It's very obvious to me that there is something clearly wrong with reporting a story like this and somehow trying to be "fair." There is no "fair" here. A man has been arrested and is facing imprisonment for life because, he spoke out against religion and, the AP is trying to be "fair"? As if there's some moral equivalency here?

Quran Burning Cancelled

Reuters – Dove World Outreach Center church pastor Terry Jones announces the burning of the Korans will continue …

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf has agreed to move the mosque from near Ground Zero so, the minister in Florida, Rev. Terry Jones, has stated that he will cancel the burning of the Quran.

"I asked him three times, and I have witnesses," Jones said. "If it's not moved, then I think Islam is a very poor example of religion. I think that would be very pitiful. I do not expect that." 

"We are, of course, now against any other group burning Qurans," Jones said during a news conference. We would right now ask no one to burn Qurans. We are absolutely strong on that. It is not the time to do it."

So, now I guess we've proven that you have to be strong and, confront these people head on! Thank you Rev Jones for teaching some people a lesson in this. Sometimes, you have to hit below the belt with some people. Islam only respects strength. They have NO desire to reason.

Islam is Already a Part of Ground Zero

The AP is jumping all over a new story that declares, Islam is already a part of the neighborhood that is at Ground Zero.

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, is now being heralded as a man who is a moderate and, one who has worked with Christians and Jews alike. 

He's devoted much of his career to working closely with Christians, Jews and secular leaders to advance interfaith understanding. He's scolded his own religion for being in some ways in the "Dark Ages." Yet he's also accused the U.S. of spilling more innocent blood than al-Qaida, the terrorist network that turned the World Trade Center, part of the Pentagon and four hijacked airplanes to apocalyptic rubble.

The article is claiming that Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf has no connection with any radicals. However, he also said this:

In a July 2005 speech at the Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Center in Adelaide, Australia, Rauf said, according to the center's transcript:

"We tend to forget, in the West, that the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than al-Qaida has on its hands of innocent non-Muslims."

While calling terrorism unjustified, he said the U.S. has supported authoritarian regimes with heinous human rights records and, faced with that, "how else do people get attention?"

In the same address, he spoke of prospects for peace between Palestinians and the Israelis - who he said "have moved beyond Zionism" - and of a love-your-neighbor ethic uniting all religions.

I'm not really sure what the point of this article is. The author appears to be dead set on wanting to convince people that the arguments against the mosque are incorrect. The endgame should be building the mosque. Why is the media all of a sudden so defensive of religion? Not just any religion but, one that has murdered millions in it's name.

The people don't want it built. The people are the ones that pay taxes and pay for politicians to SERVE them, not turn around and slap them in the face. There are other places to build a mosque and the fact that Rauf appears to be unwilling to move the project, only proves what an extremist he truly is.
