Ground Zero Mosque Wants Federal Grant of $5 Million

The so-called ground zero mosque recently applied for a $5 million federal grant from a fund designed to rebuild lower Manhattan after 9/11, reports The Daily Beast’s John Avlon.

According to the story that is being reported, it is not likely that the grant will be given but, I think the main point here is, where do these people get the audacity to ask for federal funding to build a religious institution? They can call it a community center all they want, we know what it is.

The topic was the mosque being built near Ground Zero and, as you can imagine, Whoopi and Joy are all for it, claiming that "it's American." What on earth is American about showing the enemy just how disgustingly weak we've become through political correctness?

These two are just examples of how when people really don't know anything about the facts of who wants to build this mosque and why. Ignorance.

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf is now telling the American people that there really is nothing special about  the land that is considered, Ground Zero.

Well how nice of him to say such a thing. *sarcasm*

                                                      

"It's absolutely disingenuous, as many have said, that that block is hallowed ground," Rauf said, noting the nearby exotic dance and betting businesses. "So let's clarify that misperception."

Misperceptioin? 

"I just think he's being very insensitive to say it's not hallowed ground because of who's occupying the buildings," said Jim Riches, a former New York City deputy fire chief whose son, Jimmy, was killed at the trade center. "The strip club didn't murder my son."

Ummm...thank you!

I'm so glad the Imam has took it upon himself to let us know that the ground zero is not "hallowed." Gee...if that isn't reason enough for them to MOVE the project, I don't know what is.

Zoning restrictions are enforced all the time in this country. There is no reason not to enforce a zoning restriction in this case, other than political correctness.

 

Trump on Letterman - Ground Zero Mosque

I never have liked Letterman. Ever. Even when he became quite popular in the 90's, I couldn't stand him then, and I can't stand him now. Watch as he tries to defend the Ground Zero mosque.



This isn't about freedom of religion. This is about a bunch of extremists that are shoving their attack in our faces. The "center" as they are calling it now, will have prayer rooms on the top 2 floors, overlooking Ground Zero. This is not a coincidence. These are evil people, with agendas, and anyone they buys into their hyperbole, using our freedoms to exploit us, are just plain ignorant. Wake up people!

Islam is Already a Part of Ground Zero

The AP is jumping all over a new story that declares, Islam is already a part of the neighborhood that is at Ground Zero.

Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, is now being heralded as a man who is a moderate and, one who has worked with Christians and Jews alike. 

He's devoted much of his career to working closely with Christians, Jews and secular leaders to advance interfaith understanding. He's scolded his own religion for being in some ways in the "Dark Ages." Yet he's also accused the U.S. of spilling more innocent blood than al-Qaida, the terrorist network that turned the World Trade Center, part of the Pentagon and four hijacked airplanes to apocalyptic rubble.

The article is claiming that Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf has no connection with any radicals. However, he also said this:

In a July 2005 speech at the Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Center in Adelaide, Australia, Rauf said, according to the center's transcript:

"We tend to forget, in the West, that the United States has more Muslim blood on its hands than al-Qaida has on its hands of innocent non-Muslims."

While calling terrorism unjustified, he said the U.S. has supported authoritarian regimes with heinous human rights records and, faced with that, "how else do people get attention?"

In the same address, he spoke of prospects for peace between Palestinians and the Israelis - who he said "have moved beyond Zionism" - and of a love-your-neighbor ethic uniting all religions.

I'm not really sure what the point of this article is. The author appears to be dead set on wanting to convince people that the arguments against the mosque are incorrect. The endgame should be building the mosque. Why is the media all of a sudden so defensive of religion? Not just any religion but, one that has murdered millions in it's name.

The people don't want it built. The people are the ones that pay taxes and pay for politicians to SERVE them, not turn around and slap them in the face. There are other places to build a mosque and the fact that Rauf appears to be unwilling to move the project, only proves what an extremist he truly is.

Obama and the Ground Zero Mosque

Obama's comment on the mosque that is to be built near Ground Zero has sparked quite a reaction from his Republican opponents. Obama thinks that religions freedom is what allows the mosque to be built. That was the extent of his remarks but, many feel this doesn't go far enough.

Does it shock anyone that the president is acting politically correct here? That he's also claiming his viewpoint is not political? This man is such a predictable leftist, it's just not funny anymore. Who's side is he on? The liberals seem to be so hell bent on this country bowing down to enemies from abroad, and inside this country.

Yes, we have religions freedom but, we also have common sense and, the ability to recognize stupidity. 3,000 of our fellow citizens were murdered by a group of radical fruitcakes that belong to Islam. Putting a mosque there is a mockery of that occurrence, and if this project, somehow goes through, the Islamic world will be laughing their asses off about how ignorant we truly are.

Mosque At Ground Zero Approved

The Muslims that want to build at the site right next to Ground Zero are claiming that it will bring about healing.

Healing? No, this is about rubbing it in our faces.

The project has been approved and, Mayor Micheal Bloomburg says that not allowing the mosque to be built would give terrorism a victory...or, some nonsense like that.

Unbelievable. I'm sorry. I cannot understand how having a mosque at Ground Zero is going to "promote peace and healing." No, it's only going to piss a bunch of people off.
