Transgender 10-Year Old?!?!

A couple in Ohio have decided to allow their 10-year old boy to dress as a girl - full time.

This recent article I ran across in the Huffington Post (click title of this post), about blew my mind, especially when I read the first sentence.

Turns out there are parents in the news who do the right thing. Jennifer and John of Ohio have a transgender 10-year-old child, and they support Jackie's decision to live life as a girl.  

The right thing to do? Are you kidding me? What kind of jack@ss parents allow their 10-year old boy to dress like a girl when puberty hasn't even kicked in? The part of the brain that controls sexuality has not even developed by this age. How ignorant can these people be? How ignorant can the Huff Puff be, suggesting this is a positive thing to do for this child? Do they have any idea how difficult of a life this child will have? What happens if the child changes their mind later on?

I suppose I have to respect the rights of these parents to do what they like but, I do see this as abuse. These parents are obviously more interested in giving into whatever this child wants, rather than trying to steer this child into a moral, responsible lifestyle. They seem to be taking on the role of being good friends with their child, rather than being a parent. It is certainly one thing for an adult to make this decision but, for a 10-year old child to have this choice is absurd.

Cartoon Characters and Child Violence

Of course, the Huffington Post came up with this idea - to have people change their profile pictures to cartoon characters, in order to raise awareness concerning child abuse.

What?

According to the Huffington Post, the whole thing was started as part of a campaign against child abuse. As one user wrote:

“From now until December 7, change your profile picture to a cartoon character from your childhood. The objective of this is not to see any human faces on Facebook but an invasion of memories for the fight against Violence to Children. Remember we were kids too :D.”

Let me just say, I'm not trying to "boo hoo" here or anything but, I was a victim child abuse; I also happen to know many other children that were victims of child abuse. Getting thrown down the stairs, pushed against walls, getting choked, doesn't exactly remind me of a cartoon.

Let me also say, what I went through was merely a FRACTION of what other children I knew had to grow up with. I was very lucky. I had a dad that went to counseling. I'm not trying to come across as feeling sorry for myself; I don't. I do know that many children are NOT as lucky as I was. It's a living nightmare being beat up on a daily basis, feeling as though no one cares, no one loves you, no one will believe you...

Something tells me that cartoons aren't exactly something children think about when their parents are kicking the crap out of them. Yeah, that's not what I thought about either.

If you want to help, the best thing you can do is make sure that the county you live in offers help to children, when the police are called. THIS is the single most important thing and fortunately for me, I lived in a county that didn't put up with child abuse. Raise awareness in schools, telling children to come forward. That's how you help out with child abuse.

Changing your avatar to a cartoon character for a few days, then doing nothing else, is sort of disgusting.

Olbermann Is So Great, He Tells You Just How Great He Is

Since Olbermann apparently is not receiving too many compliments from those around him, I guess he felt the need to let everyone know what a great reporter he is.

A piece on the Huff Post claims George W. Bush plagiarized parts of his book, "Decision Points." Since the story is weak, and Olbermann is so respectable, he decided not to run the story. Of course, this means he had to let his audience know just how awesome he is for not running to story and, ask the question to his audience, as to whether Fox or CNN would have ran the story...or, something similar. 

Well, CNN did run the story:

Spitzer actually says “News just broke today that several sections of George Bush’s memoir are apparently plagiarized,” and aside from the use of the qualifier “apparently,” neither he nor Parker evinces the slightest bit of skepticism.

Oh, Olbermann, you're just such a great reporter for killing the story. You know what would be even more decent of you? Next time, you might want to just keep these things to yourself. I know it's hard for liberals to do because, they only do nice things or, the right thing in order to brag and get full recognition of those things.
