Marijuana Users Have Abnormal Brain Structure -- More Links to Developing Schizophrenia

A Northwestern Medicine® study has shown that marijuana users develop abnormal brain structures. They also state that this new study shows the heavy use of marijuana may lead to developing schizophrenia. The results also show that this abnormal brain structure produces a poor working memory.

As with other studies that have been done, this one also confirms that those who begin using the drug early on in their teens are the highest at risk for developing these problems.

Marijuana -- The Main Issues I Have With the General Debate

*Some links have been added. As I gain more information I will try and update here.

Well, it is now legal for citizens in Colorado to toke up and smoke some marijuana for recreational purposes. I'm not exactly sure what to think of this news. It will be very interesting to see how it all plays out for them and the rest of the country will certainly be watching. In fact, I'm fairly certain that many states will be eager to follow their lead.

Conspiracies -- Mostly the Truther Movement

Let's face it, the internet is awesome. I can easily look up just about anything my heart desires and learn all sorts of new information. I can discuss news stories with people on social media networks, blogs, and news sites. The internet opens the door to amazing possibilities for all of us but unfortunately, as the saying goes..."you let the bad in with the good," and the internet is proof of how accurate that statement is.

What is "bad" you might ask?

Will Obama Get The Stoner-Vote?

The election of 2012 will be rather significant. It will determine if this great experiment will continue or be destroyed within from the ever-pushing of socialist/communist ideas that come from the Obama administration.

Personally, I don't like being a fear monger and for me, there is always hope but at the same time it is completely foolish not to look back at history and not understand that we could be headed for serious disaster. Bad things can and do happen. Millions have consistently been slaughtered in the name of socialism and communism. It would be foolish to think, "that can't happen here."

California Says No To Marijuana Legalization

So, apparently the people of California still have some brain cells. They do not want everyone high as a kite on marijuana.

Here are some other results of the election:

Washington state's voters repealed taxes on candy, soda and bottled water adopted by lawmakers last year — a move that could eliminate a projected $352 million in revenue over five years. Voters rejected a proposal to impose a state income tax on any income above $200,000, or $400,000 for couples.

_In the littlest state, voters chose to keep the longest formal name — opting to stay as Rhode Island and Providence Plantations, instead of just Rhode Island.

_In Illinois, where the two most recent former governors have been convicted on federal charges, voters approved an amendment that enable future governors to be recalled by popular vote.

_Oklahoma voters approved a proposed amendment aimed at nullifying the segment of the new federal health care law requiring people to have health insurance. Similar measures were on the ballots in Arizona and Colorado.

_In Colorado, political leaders of both major parties opposed three measures to ban borrowing for public works, cut the income tax and slash school district property taxes. Opponents said the proposals would cost the state $2.1 billion in revenue and eliminate tens of thousands of jobs.

_For the first time since the 1990s, there were no measures to ban same-sex marriage. But in Iowa, voters were deciding whether to oust three state Supreme Court justices who joined a unanimous 2009 ruling that legalized gay marriage there.

_Colorado voters were deciding on an anti-abortion "personhood" amendment — similar to one rejected in 2008 — that would give unborn fetuses human rights in the state constitution.

_California's Proposition 23 would suspend the state's landmark greenhouse gas emissions law until the jobless rate falls to 5.5 percent for a year. It is backed by out-of-state oil companies; foes include Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and alternative-energy entrepreneurs.

_An Arizona measure would ban affirmative action programs by state and local governments based on race, ethnicity or sex.

Total SHOCKER! Paris Hilton Smokes Weed - Charges Dropped

Paris Hilton went to South Africa for the World Cup and was busted for possession/smoking of marijuana.

It appears as though charges have been dropped against her.
Hilton wrote on Twitter later: "Hey guys, there's a lot of crazy rumors going around. Just want you all to know the truth. Everything is completely fine. I was not charged or arrested, cause I didn't do anything."

Yeah, right. She's totally innocent I'm sure. I happen to know for a fact that the heiress is a long time marijuana smoker. Oh, well, just another example of how money will get you out of practically anything.

It's really not that smoking weed is the end of the world but, it's just silly how some folks get away with everything, while others would be in serious trouble.

Legalizing Marijuana in CA

Of course, it wasn't enough to simply use it for medicinal purposes, now the state of CA is going to put on the ballot an initiative to make marijuana legal for recreational use.

On the November 2010 ballot, voters will be able to decide whether they would like to live in state of haze, only legally.
