The Middle East -- Is Our Government Negotiating With Terrorists?

Riots and protests are continuing in Egypt and places where the radical Muslim population is present. The latest news reveals that the US was actually warned 48 hours in advance about the attacks that took place in Libya and Egypt but failed to take any action.

Where's the Transparency?

AP – FILE - In this March 15, 2010, file photo, President Barack Obama speaks in Strongsville, Ohio. Two years …

Even though Obama had repeatedly promised that his administration would be transparent, for the purposes of promoting accountability, a review has revealed that the Obama administration has done little to improve transparency.
Two years into its pledge to improve government transparency, the Obama administration took action on fewer requests for federal records from citizens, journalists, companies and others last year even as significantly more people asked for information. The administration disclosed at least some of what people wanted at about the same rate as the previous year.

People requested information 544,360 times last year under the U.S. Freedom of Information Act from the 35 largest agencies, up nearly 41,000 more than the previous year, according to an analysis by The Associated Press of new federal data. But the government responded to nearly 12,400 fewer requests.

The administration refused to release any sought-after materials in more than 1-in-3 information requests, including cases when it couldn't find records, a person refused to pay for copies or the request was determined to be improper under the law. It refused more often to quickly consider information requests about subjects described as urgent or especially newsworthy. And nearly half the agencies that AP examined took longer — weeks more, in some cases — to give out records last year than during the previous year.

The government's responsiveness under the Freedom of Information Act is widely considered a barometer of how transparent federal offices are. The AP's analysis comes a day before a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing examining the Obama administration's progress.
There's no surprise here. Obama and his government being secretive, while telling the public he's transparent is just something he would do.

Obama Practices Gay Affirmative Action?

AP – FILE - In this June 22, 2010 file photo, President Barack Obama delivers remarks during a LGBT Pride

Based on the latest news coming from Washington, Obama wants us to know just how many openly gay members he has appointed. Why?

Could someone please explain to me what business it is of his or ours whether who he is appointing is gay? Why is this even an issue?

The answer is really simply when you discover that liberalism is a mental disorder. See, the reason why someone like Obama would go out of their way to appoint gays, has nothing to do with being tolerant, loving, or anything like that. It has to do with making themselves feel good by showing people just how great they think they are.

Less than halfway through his first term, President Barack Obama has appointed more openly gay officials than any other president in history.

Gay activists say the estimate of more than 150 appointments so far — from agency heads and commission members to policy officials and senior staffers — surpasses the previous high of about 140 reached during two full terms under President Bill Clinton.

"From everything we hear from inside the administration, they wanted this to be part of their efforts at diversity," said Denis Dison, spokesman for the Presidential Appointments Project of the Gay & Lesbian Leadership Institute.

They wanted this to be a part of their efforts at diversity. It says so right there in the article. It's all a "show" to them. There is NOTHING genuine here and, it almost suggests that many of these people wouldn't have been appointed had they not been gay!

So, this is just a form of affirmative action for gay people. This is telling gays that they need some kind of special treatment because, there's just no way on earth they could achieve anything on their own. Ultimately, it's about making Obama and the democrats feeling good about themselves.

This is an utter joke. How many times do you have to tell these people, it should never be about color, about religion, about sex, or who someone is having sex with? It's about who is best qualified for the job!

The pace of appointments has helped to ease broader disappointment among gay rights groups that Obama has not acted more quickly on other fronts, such as ending the "don't ask, don't tell" policy that bans gays from serving openly in the military.

Just further proof it's about making Obama look good at certain times, when it helps HIM. This has nothing to do with gays. This is about Obama and his image.

Defending Arizona

Nearly $500,000 has been donated to the state of Arizona from various sources, in order to help Arizona fight the Federal government's lawsuit concerning the new immigration bill.

These donations have been coming in from all 50 states. This is clear proof that the people of this country want the Federal government to help Arizona, not sue it. I have a feeling more money will be coming in.

Obama and his administration are making a huge mistake here, going against the people, especially the people in Arizona that overwhelmingly voted for this law.

Petraeus Vows to Win in Afgan

General Petraeus is now in change of the war in Afghanistan. He is vowing to win via his counterinsurgency strategy.
"In answer, we must demonstrate to the people and to the Taliban that Afghan and international forces are here to safeguard the Afghan people, and that we are in this to win," Petraeus said on the Fourth of July, U.S. Independence Day.
With rules on engagement, dwindling public support, and deadlines that have been placed on the war by the Obama administration, it is looking pretty gloom in Afghanistan.

I guess we'll have to wait and see. I have no military experience, and I'm not even sure what to believe. It doesn't mean I can't have an opinion. It simply means, I feel that I don't have enough information to honestly believe I can make an intelligent opinion.

The problem is, we have a left wing media that is clearly against this war. We have a president that lacks experience in leading, other than organizing a few BBQ's in Chicago. It's hard to go through all this information and actually feel informed.

What if there is a way to win in Afghanistan? What will "winning" look like? Have we really done all we can? Should we leave? What will us leaving do to that area? This is an entirely different type of war. There are no clear lines. These people are not represented by a government and in uniforms. They use women and children to fight this war.

Please leave comments. I'd love to hear from everyone. I know I have quite a few readers that are in the military or have military experience so, I'd be very interested in what you all think.

Volunteers Ready for Oil Clean Up But Are Ignored

It is being reported that there are thousands of volunteers to help clean up beaches, as well as help with the oil spill but, instead, most of these folks have been just waiting around for instructions.

Foreign countries have also offered to help but, approval for many of them has either not come or, when it did, it took over a month to do so.

No one knows what the hold up is. The Obama administration promised all this transparency but, instead, like everything else, the people are left confused and, with no answers. The administration is denying most of these accusations but, at the same time, not being specific when answering questions posed by the media.

Click title of post for full article and more details.

Millions of gallons of oil have been flowing into the ocean and it seems there is no end in site. What are they going to do? Obama says that BP is responsible but, they were already responsible according to laws that have already been passed. So, really, he didn't do anything concerning placing responsibility.

They've told us that BP has the worst record for safety and other violations but, Obama has been in office for over a year now and, they obviously didn't do enough inspections or, enforce laws that would force BP to correct all these mistakes they are accused of making.

The question remains, what is Obama doing? What is BP doing? What are their plans, if they are not accepting help from others willing to do so? Could they not at least tell us why volunteers are sitting around waiting for instructions? Or why they are not accepting help from foreign countries? It's time to demand some answers. An investigation needs to be done because, there is absolutely no transparency as far as I can see.

Clinton - Federal Gov't Will Sue Arizona

Even though it's not her area, Clinton made a comment during an interview in Ecuador, on June 8th. She said that the administration will be bringing a lawsuit against the immigration act that AZ recently passed.

Brewer, a Republican, said in a statement that "this is no way to treat the people of Arizona.""To learn of this lawsuit through an Ecuadorean interview with the secretary of state is just outrageous," she said.

"If our own government intends to sue our state to prevent illegal immigration enforcement, the least it can do is inform us before it informs the citizens of another nation."

Click title of post for article on the AP.

I'm not sure how the federal government can sue a state for doing a job they have completely neglected for decades now.

The immigration problem has grown into many large problems. Something has to be done and, it's the government's job to protect it's citizens. Yes, the federal government are the ones that are in charge of this duty but, what are we supposed to do when they continue to drop the ball by doing nothing?

The Difference Between Bush and Obama

So, I ran across this video, again, from someone on Facebook.

I just had to share it. Go ahead and watch.

While this doesn't shock me at all, I am hoping that a few liberals might see this and realize that even though they keep saying they care for the troops and want to bring them home, the liberals and their savior are NOT respected, they are not trusted, and they are not liked by the military for a reason. After all, it is their opinion that counts.

Israel Will Do Anything To Stop Iran

Well, the differences in the Bush administration and the Obama administration are very obvious.

Israel is clearly doing the correct thing and standing firm against Iran. This is exactly what the US should be doing.

Instead, Obama is sending the message that they want to sit down with Iran and give Israel problems.
