While the world seems to be littered with crisis from the Middle East to Japan, Obama has been playing golf, congratulating athletes, and giving a lecture on the "no-no's" of bullying.
With various urgencies swirling about him, Saturday’s weekly videotaped presidential address focusing on “Women’s History Month” seemed bizarrely out of touch.
Obama Friday took time out to honor the 2009-10 Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks. Thursday was a White House conference on bullying – not a bad idea perhaps, but not quite Leader of the Free World stuff either.
Obama appeared a little sleepy as he weighed in against the bullies, perhaps because he’d spent the night before partying with lawmakers as they took in a Chicago Bulls vs. Charlotte Bobcats game.

I'm sure Obama is working but, it seems awfully odd that mainstream hasn't been complaining about his golf, the way they did with Bush.
Oh, silly me, MSM only cares if the president has an R behind his name.
In my internet searches last night, I ran across an interesting article. I figured I would go ahead and link to it.
I repeat, there was and will *not* be any significant release of radioactivity from the damaged Japanese reactors.
By "significant" I mean a level of radiation of more than what you would receive on - say - a long distance flight, or drinking a glass of beer that comes from certain areas with high levels of natural background radiation.

The latest trend amongst many writers on the internet involves the subject of the absence of looting in Japan. It is common after some type of devastation to witness citizens scrambling and looting local businesses but, in Japan, we are not witnessing this. Why?

Thousands have perished and over 500,000 are now homeless after the quake and tsunami. Now, Japan is concerned over a nuclear meltdown. Sea water is now being pumped into the reactor, in hopes that it will prevent further explosions.
On Monday a hydrogen blast at the Fukushima Daiichi's reactor 3 injured 11 people and destroyed the building surrounding it. The explosion was felt 40km (25 miles) away and sent a huge column of smoke into the air.
It followed a blast at reactor 1 on Saturday.
Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano said there were signs that the fuel rods were melting in all three reactors.

A second explosion occurred in Japan at the nuclear plant. This was due to the workers trying to release pressure. The steam with hydrogen, mixed with oxygen in the atmosphere is what is being reported as the cause of this explosion.
SOMA, Japan – The second hydrogen explosion in three days rocked Japan's stricken Fukushima Dai-ichi nuclear plant Monday, sending a massive column of smoke into the air and wounding 11 workers. Hours later, the U.S. said it had shifted its offshore forces away from the plant after detecting low-level radioactive contamination.
The aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan was about 100 miles (160 kilometers) offshore when it detected the radiation, which U.S. officials said was about the same as one month's normal exposure to natural background radiation.
It was not clear if the radiation had leaked during the Monday explosion. That blast was felt 25 miles (40 kilometers) away, but the plant's operator said radiation levels at the reactor were still within legal limits.

I know I haven't done any coverage of what has happened and what continues to happen in Japan. The truth is, I just can't even think about it. It's just too much for me. When I begin to even think about what I've seen on tv and what those people are going through, my mind just can't handle it.
My heart is so heavy right now and just writing this is making me anxious. I just can't even think about this horrible event without freaking out.
